Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum was same till 2017 as was in the 2001.It changed in 2018 and now has been brought at par with the IITs.The exam structure consists of two minor exams and one major exam. The minor exams are conducted in colleges whereas the major exams are conducted by Jammu university itself.

Placement Experience

3

The placements and job opportunities have increased over the period of time.As it is a College which is managed by Charitable trust so there can be some issues as well. But overall now the college is changing its approach also with time and now companies are recruiting more students than in the past. Our college doesnot provide internship as it understands that industry experience is more needed than college experience to survive in modern world. We need to have some skill set with us before leaving the campus.

College Events

4

Every year the function is organised in our college. It is a 3 day fest. There are Dj nights,Competitions,Various project demonstrations and presentation.Every year the Telecommunication day is also organized and Blood donation is also organized.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is feasible. There are scholarships for minority students as well. The fee structure can overall cost you around 3-4 lakh of 4 years. The college has arranged some special schemes for poor students who cannot pay their fee in one time.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't know about any scholarship.Mostly it is given to the minority students and I am a general category students.I donot know about schemes that are offered by college. There is no loan facility available.

Campus Life

3.5

The labs in our college are not advanced but they are well maintained and we have quite a few expensive equipments which are arranged in different labs.We have various sports room in our college which have table tennis ,Badminton,Volleyball,Cricket. Our college also participates in inter college championship in various games.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel is not that good.I would rate it 6 out of 10.There are no AC rooms available in the hostel and the hostel does not look like a hostel .It has only 10-12 rooms .There is no cleaning facility in hostel.Students have to do cleaning by themselves.

Alumni/Alumna

Our Alumni is very much helpful. They are always at your service.Sometimes things will not go your way easily but they definitely soon will fall into place .The seniors are quite friendly. They are like elder brother and sister to us.Always ready to help.

Admission

I had given JK entrance exam.I got my rank around 2800 in state. My name was in the 1st merit list.So afterwards, i attended the counselling in JKBopee office in jammu.I didn't get my desired college in the first merit list.So during the secound round of counselling I got this college as it is considered as a prestigious institute in terms of learning. The college has produced excellent results in years. We have a few share of university toppers from our college also.

Faculty

5

The college faculty is at best in terms of giving education. We have a faculty in college which have both the industry experience as well as the teaching experience. They are teaching for last 10-15 years.

Placements aren't that good and for Zoology it's like the research roles in labs and under research professors so mostly a salary of 30-50k is what students of Zooly gets at our college and even DU stidnets get the same.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course work for PhD programmes is very relevant and maliable. You can pick and choose your own individual challenges and subjects. There are no restrictions on the freedom of choice. However, you might have to enroll in a few Swayam course for the completion of your course work. The course work also does not prepare you for any real world applications or even your PhD really. Course work can be heavily improved by a new hands-on pedagogy which may induce ideas instead of deducing them from various books and sources. The frequency of exams is once per coursework.
