Course Curriculum Overview
I took admission in this course because of the upcoming oppourtunities in electronics field. The curriculmn is cut short only focuses the important stuuf we need to know. Unecessary subjects like chemistry has been removed. The daily shcedule is very hectic (9-5) we don't get time to study addtional stuff. The teaching methods can be improved though it's still good. As I told earlier about the FA system the exams occur almost every 2 weeks with 9-5 daily college. It becomes very hectic. If you refer to class notes and syllabus then it would not much difficult to score.
Internships Opportunities
Being a first year I do not know much about the interships opportunities but some got it in 7th semester. Projects are given related to course in summer break of 2 months. Other than that the concern teachers also send diiferent additional course or tournament details time to time.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fees of my particular course(Btech ECE/EE) is 65000 inr. Other than that you have to pay 7500 inr as exam fess per year and 1000 inr as registration fees during admission. There are scholarships approved through AKTU and the college itseld aslo provide scholarships for returning students, referring students etc., Mostly the scholarships are for SC, ST, OBC, EWS students GEN students will get very less chances. Top rankers also get prize money or scholarships. Btech Computer Science fees are around 1.3 lakhs per year. Other than that you do not have to pay any fees for using labs or library.
Campus Life
Engenious is fest conducted in March which different activities like arts and literature, sports, music etc., other than that frequent competitions are held in the college which students can take part in. Library is well quipped with books about majority fields. The classrooms are equipped with projectors and air conditioners. There are many sports and exrta activities you can take part in.
Admission
I was preparing for Merchant Navy but couldn't clear the medicals(I didn't apply to other btech colleges as my written navy exams were clear), by the time my medical results and other test results came most colleges forms were closed so I got admitted here. The admission process is simple. 1. Direct Admission - Based on your Intermediate results, Fill the form given them, update your details and verify your identity and some other paperwork, pay registration fee(rs 1000) and respective course fee (can pay in installments). 2. Councelling- I got direct admission so I do not know this process.
Faculty
In my course students are less (17 students) as compared to teachers so teachers give full attention to all students. I can't tell about the Courses like Computer Science which have more students. The faculties have given us the freedom to contact them any time (offcourse only if the teacher is free). The teachers are friendly and being an autonoums instittute they actually teach in class. Some faculties force you to do so much work which is actually unacceptable like one topic u have write 4-5 times in a day (it's actually upto them they might give you or not ) while others which just ask you few question and if you answer them they wont tell you to do this stuff. The exams part are a bit annoying so a subject is of 100 marks. It is divided into three parts 1. Formative Assessment(FA)(60 marks)- It is also divided into 5 parts FA1, FA2, FA3, FA4, FA5 OF 12 marks each.(12*5=60) 2. Submitive Assessment(SA)(30 marks)- It is the final semester exams 3. Attendance(10 marks)- 85%>10 marks and then it will gradually decrease with you percentage(like 9 marks for 80%-85%) this system is kinda annoying since the FA comes after every 2 weeks and if you miss FA you wont be able to get good grades about the course curriculumn they have reduced the cousre and put only those stuff which we will actually need in our course. Like chemistry was removed completely anf physics was only one semester.
Night Life
The college is situtated in industrial area but not far from the city. Gyms, stores and restraunts are all present with 1km and travel is easy beacuse of being on main highway due to which you can get a bus or auto anytime. I am a day scholar so I don' t know much about hostels and mess but around at8-9pm the main gates are closed. The campus opens at 8 am till 5The college is on main highway so its not safe at night.
