Course Curriculum Overview

5

1) Being a Doctor, is highly respected and Nobel profession in the society. This is the only thing that inspired me to choos the course. 2)speaking about application of the course in real life, it is obviously very use ful in practical world. 3)The curriculum of the collage provides enough practice and exposure to the medical students. 4) all the teachers and staff members are highly skilled.and I have absolutely no complaints about the faculty. 5) for each year we have 2 internal examinations, 2 prelims examination and lately we have our University examination. 6) for being eligible for University examination, we have to score atleast 40 percent in collage exams which includes prelims and internals.

Internships Opportunities

5

Internship is provided by the collage itself for 1 and half year 2) the internship is paid internship. 3) we are paid rs 18000 for internship in the associated hospital. 4) during internship , students get exposed to patients , where they can learn about how to talk to patient, how to handle them, how to treat people etc... Internships provides practical knowledge. Also not to forget the patient inflow in GMC KOLHAPUR is pretty good.

Hostel Facilities

5

1) GMC KOLHAPUR hostel facility is preedy good, considering that it was built recently. 2) each room in boys hostel has accommodation capacity of 3 students. 3) room is very well designed so as to provide appropriate space to each individual 4) each student of the room gets seperate, study table along with chair, a bed , window, celling fan, tube light, electric board and a personal cupboard. 5) collage canteen provides almost all the type. Of fastfood at reasonably low price and good quality 6)a student lives in the hostel for about 4 years till the completion of MBBS. 7) however during PG course the student is transferred to pg hostel.also some people opt for rented rooms

Admission

I applied to almost all the government medical colleges of Maharashtra, how ever I opted for a retention in this collage. Reason being I loved kolhapur as a city. 2) GMC Miraj is the only collage which is usually get compared with GMC KOLHAPUR. 3) talking about the academics both the collage have more-or-less same level of academics however GMC KOLHAPUR offers better hostel facilities. 4) GMC Miraj has upper hand when we consider the fact that the associated hospital and collage iare both connected and situated in the same place. 5) talking about patients inflow, in both GMC KOLHAPUR and GMC Miraj is similar.

Faculty

5

Faculty to Students ratio in the collage is pretty good . Each department is has 1 HOD AND 2 ASSISTANT PROFESSORS Faculties that I like are :- ANATOMY, PHARMACOLOGY,FMT, PSM, SURGERY, ENT, OBGY, OPHTHALMOLOGY, MEDICINE.

Night Life

5

1)Collage gym is not that good , it has outdated machineries also the weights like dumbells and plates are not enough. 2) collage canteen is great, offers most of the fast food at affordable price. 3)library tqht is newly built in the collage campus is offers one of the best library experience. 4) it has almost all the books that a student reads during his MBBS journey. 5) any book can be issued or borrowed by a student from the library free of cost for a limited period of time. 6) hostel intimes is 9pm. 7) collage locality is safe to roam arround at any time.

Curriculum is highly planned and very vast. Regular revision is necessary to caver all subjects. All subjects are taught with high practical basis hence ensuring exposure and preparing for real life exposure. Teaching could be more consise and logic based. Main exams are every 2 to 3 months with difficulty slightly higher in term 2 than term 1.
