Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is set in a very good way. each semester is followed up accurately to the last semester's subjects making it very easy to follow up. The curriculum teaches you to tackle real-world problems by teaching solutions to problems that arise and constantly improving the approach used to solve the problem. The curriculm also supports practical knowledge by mapping the lecture subjects along with respective labs.
Internships Opportunities
the institution offers a lot of internship oppurtuinties. being in sem 4 we are not yet eligible for stipend interships. but information from seniors suggest that a lot of companies provides payed internships such as microsoft, infosys, keltron etc with almost all these internships turning to full time internships with stipend.
Placement Experience
studnets becomes eligible for placements from semester 5 or 6 and amrita is famous for the placement oppurtunity. many famed and reputable companies visit amrita for campus placements. recently one of the senior was placd in schneider for a package of 24LPA. the companies that visited amrita last year were CAT, schneider, infosys and many others
Fees and Financial Aid
Currently there are three fee slabs in my college. amrita offers scholarships for those who have scored more than 80 percentile in their entrance test. Slab 3 requires you to pay 3 lakhs as tution fee annually for electrical and electronics enginnering (fee may vary from different branches of engineering). slab 2 offers 1.5 lakh scholarship from original fees. slab 1 only requires you to pay 1 lakh as tutuion fee. fees are payed annually inluding mess and hostel fee. mess fee is 40000 ruppees and hostel fee is 32000 amounting to 72000 for hostel and mess. Annually slab 1 students neefd to pay 1 lakh seventy two thousand ruppees in total. for a second slab student it will amount to almost 2.5 lakhs now other than tution, mess and hostel fee caution deposit will be ten thousand rupees. my college also offers various other scholarship programs that are allowed by the government of india.
Campus Life
the name of the college fest is vidyut. it is a national level multifest topping to 2nd place after ragam of NIT calicut. vidyut is usually conducted in march to may months. this year it is conducted during may and lasts for three days. the festival is the biggest event conducted by amrita with a budget of almost 2crore. vidyut offers many cultural and traditional programmes along with pro shows. Besides festivals when it comes to academics the library offers many technological provisions and journals. the library holds a lot of books that are useful for students and PHD scholars. the technological provisons provided in classrooms are good with almost 90% of all classes fitted with smart boards and projectors. the institution also provides high performance computing labs for conducting simulations and other tasks.
Hostel Facilities
the room is very spacious with four beds and four tables. one room can accomodate four students with ease. each floor in hostel is attached to a public toilet on ever wing the cleanliness of the toilet is pretty good and the cleaning staffs clean it almost every day. the rooms should be cleaned by the students and each floor contains four dustbins to collect trash and it is cleaned everyday. the meals are different for all days of a week which repeats every week. the hostel registration process is very easy and the hostel fee is 75,000 ruppee consisting of hostel and mess.
Admission
i have applied to many other colleges other than amrita. my first priority was federal institute of technology (fisat) and second priority was muthoot institute of technology. but i never waited for the admission confirmation beacause by that time i had already decided to join amrita institute of technology. when i first visited this college for admission enquiry i immideatly loved the college campus, the campus infrastructure and the cleanliness of the campus. the college also had a great review from all over india and was also NBA accredited college. amrita conducts an entrance examination called AEEE in which students should score almost 75% score to get admitted in fee slab 1. the exam standard was good and the admission process was done completely online making it almost smooth.
Faculty
the faculty to student ratio is almost good with each student being able to easily approach almost all faculty members. in my opinion one of my favorite faculty member is dr.jayasree PR our class advisor. she is very kind and very approachable. when it comes to subject knowledge she is very skilled and holds many PHDs and have published a lot of research papers based on electrical and electronics engineering. in my opinion there not any faculty members that i do not like. when it comes to exams there are two exams conducted in a semester. a mid sem and an end semester examination. the exams were pretty tough
Night Life
the night life is almost boring since there are no major infrastucture or towns near that provides night life. the college is open only until 9:00pm and the library facility closses after 8:00pm. after 8:00pm no students are allowed to stay in the campus. the hostel gate closes after 9:00pm. the college provides gym facility which is open from morning 5:00am and closes at 8:00pm. the locality is not really safe to around at night since there are very little people outside after 8:00pm. one of the most famous hangout places near the campus is the lake view and beach near to it.
