Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is pretty up to date and technical. all the recent technologies in use are taught. In the third semester, we were taught DSA, COA, Python Programming and Discrete structures. In the fourth semester, we were taught Theory of Automata, Operating System, Object-Oriented Programming using Java and Cyber Security. In the fifth semester, we were taught DAA, Data analytics and visualisation, DBMS, Cloud Computing and Object Oriented System Design. In sixth semester, we are taught Big data, Computer Network, Software Engineering, software project management and Machine Learning using python.

Internships Opportunities

5

internship opportunities available on campus are limited. some professors do require interns for their research paper publishing, but the stipend is very low and the environment is not good. however, you can get good recommendations from these professors to further use in your master's and phd. I wrote 2 major projects on fraud transaction detection and financial management.

Placement Experience

5

Students in our college are eligible to fill placement forms in the 6th semester. The back criteria is often decided by various companies. few companies allow no backs, few allow up to 2 backs, and few don't bother to check. The minimum CGPA requirement is 6.5. Few companies that have visited our college are Adobe, Microsoft, Samsung, Squareyards, Capgemini, etc. The average percent of students getting placed is 80-90%, but it includes a lot of mass recruiting companies. They offer a minimun salary of 2 lakhs and exploit their employes.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am currently paying yearwise fees as 119670 for 2 semesters, however, some students get fee waiver based on their aktu ranks or JEE Mains rank, who get fee waiver completely. Other than that, there are scholarships available, but these scholarships are not merit-based. they are given to students whose fathers' annual income is less than 2 lakhs. management quota students have to pay 2-5 lakhs extra during the first year of college, and they can further pay the usual fees as other students.

Campus Life

5

The annual fest organised by Galgotia's is called Unifest. It is a cultural two-day fest, having different stalls put up by different clubs and different activities are performed. Huge artists are invited, such as MC Square, Javed Ali, Akhil Sachdeva, etc. Books and journals are available in the library, are up to date, and are also well maintained. These are mishandled by students and often are not easily replaced by college staff, leading to poor quality. Sports and extracurriculars are well managed. There is a different sports council in college taking care of all these activities.

Admission

I choose this college over GL Bajaj NIET, GNIOT and other colleges due to its aktu ranking and its infrastructure and its placement record. However, the placement scenarios have declined recently, our college is still the best in terms of campus life. They host North India's biggest fest that is UNIFEST, we conduct GIMUN, the best MUN in the circuit and GIH, the GOAT hackathon by our very own technical team. We have 21 societies such as photography, graphics, finance and administration and operations.

Faculty

5

The faculty is decently qualified and teaches well, except for a few teachers who are not experts in their field yet are appointed to teach difficult subjects like COA and DSA. These teachers often waste students' time as they are not qualified enough to teach and don't let the students utilise time properly. attendance scenario is pretty strict and an average of 75% is compulsory for all students. on the contrary, there are in total 4 exams per semester, 2 CAEs, 1 PUT and the end sem exam. The CAE are of 40 marks each and holds 2 units to be covered. The PUT, which is Pre University Test, is of 100 marks covering all 5 units and is like a practice paper before the End Sem Exam.

Night Life

5

The nightlife around the galgotia's campus is pretty basic but around it is pretty cool, the college is just below knowledge park 2 metro station making it accesible towards pari chock and alpha 1 which are major attractions for food and accessiblities.

The placements of GCET are considered average to above average for a private college. The average usually looms around 5LPA. The highest CTC offered this year was 39 LPA by Autodesk. Around 70-80 percent students are placed every year.
