Course Curriculum Overview

4

I would rate 4 out of 5 to this curriculum in terms of relevance and comprehensive.GMU' s curriculum are well structured and delivered by knowledgeable faculty, thers is room for improvement in incorporating practical components and ensuring consistent placement, support across all department

Fees and Financial Aid

If we see the fee structure, it is very affordable for students. The college charges about 5000 (approx based on category)yearly as a admission fee to each students.me and my friends paid 4210 recently for re-admission in same course and one of my general category friend has paid 4510.As it is supported by odisha govt, the students are given aid by providing them various scholarships such as pre-matric,post matric,nua-o and UG merit and in all this scholarship ST and SC students are aided with an amount of 10000 from the govt and for OBC it is 8000.This amounts may vary on the basis that whether you are hosteller or day scholar. If you are a day scholar you would get 8000-10000 but if you are hosteller you would get 12000-15000

Campus Life

3

My overall personal experience in GMU is very good....i just came to know alot of things in GMU about the culture, morality etc. Every year GMU conducts annual functions and in the mid year it conducts events such as cultural events which includes typical odissi cultures, literary competitions like song, dancing, folk, ramp walk, poetry and many more. The GMU sets a platform for the students to enhance themselves both in academic as well as in other activities as mentioned above. There's a huge library where there are access to many life changing books....i personally often visit to the library in my free time to gain some sort of knowledge and to make my mind stable and stress free. The classes are facilitated with the smart boards which makes it easy and convenient for the lecturers to simply just write on the board without wasting chalk all the time and to make an effort of erasing through duster. There's a group in our GMU called ABVP group which addresses the grievance of the students and solve their problems through mutual discussions with management and faculty. It's a group made for the student to raise the voice against injustice and ongoing disparities within institutions.

Admission

The reason I choose this college over other colleges is for its affordable fees, good academic reputation and govt recognition. Compared to other universities like revenshaw or utkal, GMU offers a cost-effective education, but it lags in infrastructure, placement, faculty quality in some departments

Faculty

3

In this university every course and stream has its own faculties and this faculity consists about 5-6 or can be more including HOD( Head Of the Department)and the name of the faculty is school of commerce. As far as I am concerned with my department as students....there are only two- three lecturers who teach very well....infact they understand the thinking of the students.I merely attend there this two- three lecturer's classes and it's really worth the time. There are also some lecturer's whose class doesn't seem interesting...they just come and go....they take teaching as a formality and doesn't care about the students whether they are understanding each and everything or not.To be honest I doesn't attend the classes of this lecturers because time is very precious.....I think rather than not understanding anything what if I personally study in my home...it will save my effort as well as time

Night Life

4

The night life around Gangadhar Meher University (GMU), sambalpur is relatively quiet reflecting the city's peaceful and culturally rich environment .Unlike major metropolitan areas with bustling nightlife, sambalpur offers a more laid back experience, with limited late night entertainment options. Students living in hostel primarily spend their evenings studying, engaging in discussions or participating in small social gatherings. The university promotes a disciplined environment meanings late night events and parties are rare. There are hangout places such as auditorium and playing ground within institution and outside that we malls like reliance smart where you can visit and purchase day to day useful products and there are parks right a some distant where you can hangout with you friends and colleagues and also movie theatre named city center where you can see new released movies. So this are the things which makes my life in GMU more special.

Placement Experience:

In our college, final-year students are eligile for campus placements. While i don't recall the specific companies that visited, one of my friends interviewed with Axis Bank and got selected with a package of around 2.4 lakh. The exact percentage of students are placed and details of average or highest packages are unclear to me, but the placements process provides opportunities of those actively seeking jobs. After completing my degree, I plan to pursue an independent career rather that seeking a traditioinal job placement.
