Remarks

On a whole, I would not suggest any person to join GURU NANAK INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY as I faced a lot of problems everyday travelling 88 Kms up and down. With nothing obtained in these four years. There is no knowledge and concept obtained from the College. It's literally wasting 4 years of one's life.

Course Curriculum Overview

0.5

The course curriculum is fine in the Model handbook. But when it came to execute what we had in syllabus the College failed badly. They were not focussing on conceptual way of teaching. First two years were decent soon the College lost it's experienced faculty due to some reasons and left with nothing.

Internships Opportunities

Frankly speaking, Our College takes money for placement training and only sends students when they are recruited by the companies. We don't often get mechanical core companies for recruitment of students for an interships. They do not encourage if you get an internship in your own and if you mention them that you would cover mini and major project outside. They are so resistant that they would not give any permissions.

Placement Experience

1

Placements are not good. In my opinion there are very less mechanical engineering related companies that would even come to recruit. All the companies that visit our college are not technical and there is no use of joining them after studying core subjects for four years.

College Events

0.5

In first year we had experienced good events every now and then. I don't know what had happened to the management, they stopped all the events And even if they conduct them it was of very cheap quality with least interest. They would not give any permissions to practice and perform on stage. Instead they take money and would not present quality stuff.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was heavy with their current quality of standards. They are not recruiting any experienced faculty. Thus the fee structure of 53,300(TUTION FEE) +2500(JNTUH)+ 3000(NBA)( In the year 2015) itself is waste in my opinion.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not avail any scholarship form my college, neither did I take any loan. The Accounts management was Also very bad and they take money with a lot of restrictions and their service is very bad. They only know taking but not providing good education.

Campus Life

3

They are the most worst part in the College. The talent is not encouraged properly. They only conduct sports events so that they get money from the participants. When it comes to the cultural activities they don't care if you are even a professional in some field. Their carelessness is seen in the infrastructure provided by them.

Hostel Facilities

3

I was a day scholar. But the hostels were decent and had good infrastructure. There used to be 3 students in a room. And they also costed a heavier amount than that of tution fee. The amount of hostel with mess was 70,000+ in 2015.

Alumni/Alumna

The College is maintaining a separate building for juniors which would totally avoid interaction with seniors. And no activities listed in NBA after second year are implemented. Thus there is ZERO INTERACTION with seniors. That is how they are managing their College.

Admission

I was selecting universities for the online councillng which is to be held. I got a rank of 15173 in EAMCET and I am an OC candidate. So I am making certain selections of universities and made a list in which count of universities/ colleges were around 100. Guru Nanak Institute of Technology was the last option I thought and I placed it at the end. I finally got Mechanical engineering course in GNIT.

Faculty

1.5

In the first two years, the faculty allotted are well experienced and they explained the concept well. To also understand and implement them. But due to some internal issues with management a group of teachers left college when I was in 2 Nd year 2nd semister. From then no recruitment of experienced faculty was carried.

Placement Experience:

From 4th year 1st semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. About 10-15 companies visited our college with minimum 3 lpa. And only 30% of students are placed in the campus placement. Companies like virtuza, movate, cognizant, hcl visited our campus for placement. The highest package was 4.5 lpa and lowest was 2.8 . My plans after getting degree is work in a reputed mnc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course curriculum of our college runs under the guidance of JNTU where all the fundamentals such as DSA ,program, data base and CN also core math are given in this college divides the conceptual, lessons in 5 units .for each unit we have submit assignment unit test and also an ALP which is concentrated on learning ,mechanisam which help student revise the concept in class itself. In terms of real world the curriculum builds the theoritical, knowledge but somewhat limited exposure where students should have get internships for an industry level experience or else atleast a entry level jobs help the students to learn as well.Area of improvement include more hands- on project works and more interactive teaching methods Like case studies and problem ,based, learning. Exams are regularly for 2 mid term for semester and one end semester exam.the difficulty level is moderate and manageable with consistent and study and focusing more on understanding concepts rather than rote learning

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is not upto the mark because the number of students being placed is decreasing every year. The students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester of the college. Many companies have visited the college for the placement drives but they have very less recruitments compared to the other colleges. The highest package of my college is around 8lpa whereas the average package is around 3.5lpa. The percentage of students getting placed is even less than 10% which I think is very poor and something needs to be done for this. I'm planning to get a job off campus if I don't get recruited on the campus.

From the 5th semester itself students are eligible for placement drives if they pay for the placement training classes , internship drives start from 5th semester and training classes go on for students every week , from 7th semester drives on different job roles start and the placed percentage of students right now is about 30 to 40 percent and drives are still going on but correct training and correct opportunities more needs to be provided

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am very Passionate about Computer Science. So I joined Information Technology which is the same as CSE. Information technology mostly offers the same opportunities as CSE in VNRVJIET. So, I preferred IT in VNRVJIET. In VNRVJIET, Hyderabad faculty: student ratio is approx 1:40 which is considered as Average ratio. Most of the Faculty are PHD Graduates but there are less number of Professors. Mostly there are Assistant Professors whose Teaching Methodology is average to Good but not rated as Better in terms of Teaching. Professors are good at Teaching but Some Assistant Professors are not as good as we expected. There are mostly newly joined PHD faculty members were there who will teach in a slow manner. Every 5-6 months we have Semester Exams which are mostly easy to pass if we have somewhat knowledge of the subject.
