Remarks

Mar Ivanios is one of the best colleges in Trivandrum and also in Kerala and also in India. NAAC A Grade. It is the best college. One will be honoured to study there and i am very happy for my oppurtunity to study there.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Course curriculum was a bit tough but it was good. All major aspects of Software Development was covered under this. There were three to four programming languages to study. Java was the most important.

Internships Opportunities

My course is Bachelor of Vocation Software Development (BVoc SD). It is actually equivalent to normal BCA. My course didnt have internship facilities inside college. So I actually dont know much about Internship provided by the college.

Placement Experience

4.5

Lot of companies give special preferences for Mar Ivanios Students as they will be well educated and well mannered and will be filled with humane features. There are Placement Drives happening now too. Our faculties also helps us with that. This year I passed out from my college and waiting for the final semester results. Now I have been offered job from Tata Consultancy Services and will be joining by July

College Events

4.5

Many events are conducted by the college with the help of college union. When classes starts Freshers day and arts day are celebrated. Then after Union election Union day is celebrated. Then comes the Film fest Ivano Fest etc. These are the best events taking place in our college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Merit seats are really feasible. It is actually fit for poor people too. College also provides self financing branches that they are actually expensive and for the ones who didnt get admissions for merit seats for BCom and BA English.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are scholarships for poor people, one girl child, and other scholarships. I am from a low family and I have got the scholarships and my exam payment was just 10 rs each semesters where normal fees wher about 2000 rs.

Campus Life

5

There are many extra curricular activities provided by the college. College suppports arts and sports widely. There are Kalolsavams and other competitions within the college and outside the college and there are sports fest etc.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel facilities are provided for both girls and boys differently. There are hostels within the college road. For girls Alphonsa hostel ran and administered by Nuns and St Thomas hostel for boys ran and administered by Priests.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes there are alumni associations and our seniors are really helpful. They also have good network between them. We all are really happy that we all were able to study at a really prestigious institution.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is simple. There are 3 years with 6 semesters. Each semester has mainly two exams: Internals and Externals. Internals are conducted by our faculties and Externals by the university. Both exams will be out of 80 marks.

Admission

First there was an entrance test conducted. Since I chose Software Development my entrance questions was based on Computer Science, Current Affairs, GK etc. Only Science students where able to enter this course. After the test results where published and I got the First rank and I was so happy. Thus I got selected to this college.

Faculty

5

They are actually great. All the faculties have knowledge and they are very friendly and we can share anything. They are of great help. They all are well educated. They are really helpful and friendly for our personal matter or for educational matters

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum had so many unnecessary subjects that had no connection with our courses like psychology, zoology etc. They could have avoided that. Jewellery Designing students also had to study advanced minerology . Which in my opinion was a bit unnecessary. Apart from that i learnt to improve my drawing and rendering skills. Learnt about new types and also the history of jewellery Designing. Tools and Machinery used.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Usually, in our coarse, we follow updated curriculum about food processing technology. We do also have food analysis on our practical classes 3 days per week. I have chosen this coarse because I believe that food processing technology era is growing drastically and we can see lots of opportunities in the same field itself. Improvement can be made in the curriculum, so that they can also include food laws , importance of food in india and world wide so that students will get to know more about the syllabus and food processing technology. The frequency of timing that we get inbetween the semester exams is about 4-5 months which is pretty enough to cover all the portions that they have taken and we can calmly prepare for our end semester and exams very well.
