Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum gives overall exposure to all the subjects so students can choose which subject to go for specialisation. The teaching styles need to be more practical and the application should be shown on practical basis rather than theoretical basis. The exams take place in semester pattern.

Placement Experience

3

Usually after third year i.e after completing graduation, the students are eligible for placements. However for certain internships they allow both second and third year students. Many reputed companies like KPMG, Kirloskar , etc come for their recruitment.

Fees and Financial Aid

First year fees was 24700. Second year fees is 27100. The fees for general and backward categories is different . Also the exam fees for the categories are different. The college does not provide any scholarship or financial aid for students from their side. However it keeps on updating about government schemes wherein financial support can be taken.

Campus Life

4

The library has sufficient number of books ranging from subject specific to the general category. It also has magazines and journals available. There are also a number of fests and events taking place like annual gathering, literature fest, business fest, techno fest, etc.

Admission

I chose this college as it was good one not far from my home . Also it considers the students pursuing professional courses and for them the attendance is not a major problem once the college is given proper documents. The college initially gives admission on basis of merit and later allows others below merit if the seats are available

Faculty

3

The curriculum is quite moderate and the teachers are good with the teaching. The are also approachable and do resolve the queries of students. The exams are being set by University itself and so occur in semester pattern. Majority of students do pass the exams . Few are only failed like around 10 or something

Night Life

3

The college has a mini gym , cateen and library. The food can be taken from cateen after paying the price. The gym also has a membership fee. The college opens at 8 am and continues uptill 7/8 in evening.

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The B.com is not a very comprehensive and complex degree to complete for someone who wants to pursue his/her career in finance. It can be referred as an initial start or push start for one's finance journey over the years. Also the relevance of B.com in real world is gradually decreasing day by day.

Placement Experience:

From semester 5, you become eligible for final placement and semester 3 for internship placement. many companies like Nykaa, Myntra, Duetsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, Zomato, Beerbiceps and more have visited. the highest package in history is 38 lakh per annum. The average is 8-9 lakh per annum. Around 70% of students get the college placement. My plan is to start my own business after college. I am although doing internships through college. Already done one in Beerbiceps and one in chorus call.

Placements in my college are decent but not very high. students usually become eligible from the final year and few companies visit for roles like accounting assistant, sales, customer service. The average package is usually around Rs.2LPA-Rs.3LPA.

Remarks:

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
