What Students Say

Likes

Cleanliness and the opportunity here with the help of various clubs
Sports being encouraged and regular tournament
No restriction on talking to opposite gender ,boys girls ratio being 3:1

Dislikes

There are no vehicles allowed for students
No proper guide for placement,we have to figure out with the help of senior
Mess food not being good and easy access to alcohol and cigarette

Course Curriculum Overview

I liked maths due to which I opted this course and coding which is in run in Today's life can be done without many interruption from the academics.Somewhat the academics are related to the thing that we may require in future

Internships Opportunities

While the stats are good compared to other college . Companies like Google, microsoft,jio offer opportunities as SWE intern .It is said to practice CP and DSA for intern and few Projects based on WebD ,ML,APPD etc

Placement Experience

In my course,average package is around 29 LPA My course being of 5 years,I will be eligible for placement in 9 th semester which PPO is the other option during internship.Lot of company come for placement like Google, microsoft,etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have to pay around 1,30,000 for each semester which sums up to around 13,00,000 till the end of my course.I don't get any scholarship being general while other category people get a high amount of cut in their fees and a scholarship too like MCM

Campus Life

There are mainly 4 fest per year ,Khanan- of mining department,CONCETTO being our technical fest,PARAKRAM being sports fest and SRIJAN being our cultural fest.there are almost every book I need in library.

Hostel Facilities

Well in the first year I was alloted amber hostel which is way too worse than aquamarine,alloted for 2 nd year.The room has enough space for 2 people with seperate wardroom and study table.Mess food detoriates slowly slowly .Hostel are alloted beforehand.

Hostel Fee: INR 18000 per year

Admission

It is near my home which Is a bit advantage.I applied for IITBHU which I was unable to get because of my low marks in JEE advanced.As the procedure of admission in IIT depends upon jossa .It took few days to know my alloted college according to my preferred list.

Faculty

There are many professors but they can be divided into two type one who cares who are listening and the other who just come to teach.I like the first one,who do their job as it has to be done.Per semester there are two exams and moderate level.

Night Life

I play volleyball,joined it around feb 2024 which help me grew socially and opportunities to visit different IITS for tournament.There are many hangout spot near my college while couples going to park and singles to eat at various places opened till 2 am

BIT Mesra is Musical!!

Placement Experience:

Mechanical branch in terms of number of students placed is quite high but if it is about how many students get elite packages it's less. The average for our branch at our college is 8-9 lakhs but top companies which are into our core space for long are our college partners.

BIT Mesra is humongous!!

Placement Experience:

My plans after degree is to pursue masters or right away get on with my family business as we are already into trading chemicals. However, from the number of students from our stream that apply for jobs through campus, over 80% are placed from campus. Labs to industries that deals in manufacturing of chemicals and exporting the same are the ones where students of our college get the opportunity.

BIT Mesra is Magical!!

Placement Experience:

Highest package from our campus is eye catching as it's 56 lakhs and for chemical branch it was 34 lakhs. HUL, Sun Pharma, public limited labs and various R&D research centres are those that have helped us to get best available jobs in market as the competition is high but BIT Mesra has still managed to place over 80% students last year.

BITS Mesra is Magnificent!!

Placement Experience:

From second semester we are taken for an hour session for special training. It is optional till 4th semester but from 5th semester onwards, it becomes mandatory and we have no choice but to go through that hammer. Finally, from the last year's 1st semester companies starts coming and we can apply for the same and that is how placements are done here.

Placement Experience:

the placement rate depends on branch.some branches like cse,ese will have a high placement rate and for small branches like mechanical and chemical will have less placements .the highest package is around 60lpa.

Read this before joining BIT Sindri.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities is decent for students. The placement of BIT sindri varies from branch to branch but the core brances like Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering has evergreen placements. Among the eligible students around 90 percent students get placed. But in branches like civil and production engineering, its not the same. They have very low placement rate around 20 to 30% of eligible students get placement. For CSE, IT & ECE the placement is highly dependent on the situation of market and it varies early. The students are eligible from 6 the semester onwards for placement . The placement drive starts from August or September and companies visit till students graduate. The top recruiters are TCS with more than 80 students from overall campus , TATA power nearly 20 , LNT, JSW , Vedanta , TATA STEEL, JSL, ADANI, ABG , Shyam steel and For it sector companies like samsung , cognisant, hitachi, TCs, Spyder visited for 2k21 batch. For the batch 2020-2024 among batch size of 710 around 620 offers were made. The highest package is given by samsung which is around 28 LPA , students of CSE, IT, ECE and Electrical are eligible. For IT sector average package is around 6 lakhs. For core sectors companies heightest package is offered by vedanta to Electrical, Mechanical, Mining which is around 14 lakhs average package is around 7 LPA.. Around 75- 80 percent students get placed during campus placement drive. The Wish to crack GATE and join PSU after my graduation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is slightly outdated due but still it isnrelevant due to research oriented branch. The areas they can improve is by adding practical subjects more than theoretical one. Exams are conducted twice every semester with easy to moderately moderate difficulty level.

All things to be considered before taking admission in BIT

Placement Experience:

After 3rd year students are eligible for placement the companies visited are google,jindal,TCS, aakash,PWetc.the highest package offered was 25LPA and the average was 5-6LPA.the place percentage was 60-70% because there are students who is preparing for civil services,GATE,etc.My plan was to crack GATE and get placed in one of the PSU's.

BIT Mesra Review in a nutshell

Placement Experience:

After completion of 6th sem students are eligible for placements. All major tech giants you name it like Google, Microsoft,Walmart,Atlassian,Flipkart,Visa,Texas Instruments,Arcesium,Salesforce..... etc do visit the campus for the placement and around there are around 250+ companies visiting. Highest offered was around 51 lakhs and average for CSE is around 21Lakhs. Percentage of students placed is close to 90%.

All You need to know about IIT(ISM) Dhanbad

As this is an IIT, To get admission here Firstly You have to take the JEE mains exam. At our time there used to be 4 rounds of the JEE Mains exam and Your maximum percentile among all 4 would be considered for a cutoff It was around 90% and to be eligible for give JEE advance Exam. The JEE advance exam happened in July, and its results were also released in August. After Qualifying JEE Advanced exam too you have to go through JOSSA counselling. In JOSSA counselling you have to give your list of colleges priority wise and you will be allotted college based on your AIR. After JOSSA counseling of 6 rounds, you will be allotted a college and then you will receive an offer letter from a college. For me, at IIT Dhanbad after taking admission firstly we were introduced to college through an orientation session with our respected director. After this we were called to campus for pre-registration for our course there we had to submit our documents and verify our identity. That's it !!...Read More
