The secrets of IIT ISM Dhanbad

The course structure is Outdated a bit while there are some course curriculum modifications in recent year but there is lot to change . Some courses are good for placements . I think new course based on todays need must be added

After 4th sem students are eligible for sitting for intern interview and after 7th sem company started coming for on campus placements . Companies like Google , Microsoft, Zepto , Phonepay , BNY Melon, Barclays , sprinklr , ONGC

The year wise fee is approximately 2.7 lacs and this is almost constant for every year with a slight ups and down. Tution fees is 2 lacs per year which is 1 lac per semester. On the time of admission it takes an extra amount for josaa counselling fees but that is approximately 10000 rupees . The fees of SC/ST students is nil (tution fees) and there is also an refund of hostel fees once applied by SC/ST students. They can also apply for NSP scholarship which most of them get easily . The fees of students other than SC/ST students is same , but there is a provision of tuition fee wavier which students can avail on the basis of their family income if it is less tha 1 lacs peer annum then you will get 100 percent tuition fee wavier . If the family annual income lies between 1lac to 5 lacs then u will have to pay only 33.3 percent of tuition fees . On top of that there is also different scholar ships you can applied for . There is also a Merit cum (MCM) scholarship which college provide . Its eligibility is ur family income should be less thna 6 lacs per annum and ther is also an CGPA criteria above which you will get the MCM scholarship . The benefits of this scholar ship is that u will get the whole tuition fee refunded (whatever amount you have paid ) and also ther is an extra amount of 10000 rupees every year.

There ar many fests in the colleges . some prominents fest are Concetto , Parakrm, Srijan , Khanan etc. Th library is very big consists of thousands of books and it is a technical library. The facilities in classroom is descent and have smart board and a projector. The sports and extra curricular activities are also good . We hav SAC(Students Activities Centre) .

The room provided for first year is small and shared between two but in second year u will get a big room (shared by two ) each student hav a personal chair, study table , a cupboard, a fan , a tubelight. Also the bathroom facilitties are quite good and we get hot water supply, and electicity almost 24hrs*7. The quality of food is average but depends on ctaerer and which hostel u are living.

I applied for IIT Delhi and IIt Kanpur but my JEE advanced rank was about 5000 so i didnt get those colleges . The admission process is that u have to first wualify jee mains and jee advanced and based on your rank u will get the branh and whole process is maintained by JOSAA.

The faculty to student ratio is descent , most of the faculty are good and approachable. Prof. Badam kushvaha is one of the best faculties because he is calm and also teaches with passion. Some profs are rude for no reason i dont know why . There are two exams mainly mid semester and end semester examination . Difficulty is set by profs so this on profs either they set paper hard or easy.

There is a GYM in SAC(students Activity Centre ) . The gym has neccessary equipments . Hostel timings for freshsers are generally 12 in the night but seniors have no entry time . they can whenever get out of hostel but in campus. Some places nearby the college for fun are Prabhatam (Mall) , Birsa Munda park , Parasnath, Maithan Dam.
