Course Curriculum Overview

4

The syllabus is good here. We will get more knowledge to lead a good education. Teaching methods have to be improved. They are more time constrained here which leads to unhealthy learning. The timing of exams is 1 hour for midsem and 2 hours for main sem exams. The difficulty level is average.

Internships Opportunities

4

Project assistant - 12000 per month. Post doctoral fellows (PD), full time research faculty. These are provided by the college itself. Then Deloitte, American Express, Deutsch Bank, axis bank also comes for placements and internship. There are lot of projects done by the staffs and students every with the help of funding done by college and other sources other than college.

Placement Experience

4

The placements are good here. We can see a number of companies coming for the college to offer students. For ug 5th and 6th semester students are eligible and for PG 4th and 5th semester students are eligible. 20 percent students will get placed for sure. My plan is to do Ph.D.

Fees and Financial Aid

I will be paying rupees 120000 per year. Admission fees is rupees 5000, Tuition fee 70000, other fees 32000, non Karnataka students 10000 and rural camp 3000. Every category the amount is same. My Batchmates with different course have different amount according to the subject. Fees has been increased compared to the last year.

Campus Life

4

Prathiba is an intracollege festival that will hppening in odd semester usually in November. Then the intercollege festival called Visages, usually happening in march in even semester. For sports there is Sportstakes (intercollege) in the even semester during February. Pegasus (intracollege). Every department runs their own club and social network are handled by the separate team for every department.

Admission

I applied for Christ college and got seat but I joined here. Teaching of this college attracted me. No I didn't get a rejection. I attended personal interview to get the admission here. Anyone who completed Bachelor's degree and passes the interview are eligible.

Faculty

4

The student ratio is 20:1. The relationship is good between students and faculties. They are approachable. I like Ricky sir because his teaching is very good. The faculty I dislike is Arun sir. He is very slow in teaching. He doesn't complete the syllabus on time. There are approximately 4 exams per year. 2 midden and 2 main sem. Then class tests will be conducted for each subject.

Interview Experience

4

They started the interview by asking basics questions on my subject and they increased the level of difficulty gradually. This is the only process that is to complete the Bachelor's degree, attend the interview and join the college. I prepared by using my ug notes and books. Our Mathematical knowledge should be good to clear the interview.

Night Life

4

Gym is very good here. For students belongs to the college sports team gym is free to use. For other students they have to pay a specific a per year to use the gym. Campus timings are mornings 7 to evening 9.30. This includes 3 batch students. Different timings for different batch students. Hostel timing is students have to be inside the hostel before 6pm. Safety is good. Cafeteria and Library are also good to use.

Food and nutrition articles in newspaper made me to take this course. As it had full scope in that time. Actually curriculum is very poor in preparing us for real world application. Practical session must include more of industrial visits and projects related to industry. We had enough time to study .

I liked this biotechnology course in degree(Bsc) and i wanted to continue this course with higher studies. Hence this university is reputed one in Karnataka.. i choose this one and I got the seat and I am very happy for this. The teaching methods are really good but it depends on particular lecturers, how they teach .. For main sem exam the time was around 3 hours for 70 marks and it was moderate and can be manageable

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is fairly distributed among the 2 years. The first year broadly covers the course work, and learning of the laboratory techniques. Followed by a mini project and a major project under a professor of interest. Stem cell biology always intrigued me and this course offered exactly what I want. The curriculum focuses on training students very rigorously to make them fit for harsh conditions and situations in the real research world.
