Remarks

In all college is good compared to other private colleges. I have discussed the condition of other colleges with my friends there. But I will definitely suggest not to take mechanical or civil branch if you are looking for job after 4 years. College is 10km away from the main city but you can get city busses easily. If you are looking to follow some hobbies or extra curricular activities or carrier opportunities in pune,Its the place for you. College is not much strict about presentee after 1st year,so you can follow your other dreams ,hobbies easily. You can bring your vehicles (2 wheelers) in the hostel. Environment is free, not much restrictions.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

As the course curriculum is decided by the university of pune.college has no say in that matter. They have to accept what university says. University updates there portion after every 3 years. But I think they should update it every year if possible as mechanical engineering is continuously developing and evergreen branch. And as the technology is advancing with tremendous speed you should keep your students up to date with upcoming technology.

Internships Opportunities

Not so much internships are provided compared to the strength of students. Two or three students get the internship per branch.college sends your resume to the companies and if company considers you as eligible candidate you may get the internship for maximum 2 months. Stipend depends on the company. Some companies like ATLAS COPCO do give stipend.

Placement Experience

3

Job opportunities are not that much good.you need to work hard for that. As the Sinhgad academy of engineering,Kondhwa is the college of Sinhgad institutes, here placements are done centrally at Sinhgad vadgao campus which is also of Sinhgad group of institutes.Hence if you are in the desperate need of job after graduation, you should give second thought about taking admission for mechanical engineering. Mechanical engineering has poor placement record. Only 10% of all students are placed. And very few core companies come here for campus drive. If you don't have any condition as "I will do the job only in core company",you can get the it job in campus drive though your branch is mechanical. For computer engineering and elecronics and telecommunications engineering (e&tc) placements are good, almost 60% of all students are placed.

College Events

3

Each department has its own events. Mechanical department has the event of MECHFEST which is conducted every year in February its in our own campus. But Main event of all Sinhgad institutes is Sinhgad karandak having huge budget which is arranged in the vadgao campus. All kinds of technical and non-technical activities, competitions are conducted like fashion shows, robotics, lathe war, coding competition,DJ nights, sports events, cultural fests are all conducted during 2nd week of February. its the one thing you should not miss in the four years. Fun fact is You may find a perfect match for your life here!!! But considering college as separate we dont have much budget for our separate events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For any private college in pune just like mine have the same fees and fee structure as per the university and government ruling. If you are from the backward class or OBC,SC,ST,NT you will get the benefits as per the government norms. All the reservation and scholarships criterias are same as per the government ruling.

Fees and Financial Aid

For economically backward class Government of Maharashtra provides 2 scholarships.1st is they return the half of your tuition fee to your bank And the 2nd one is panjabrao Deshmukh scholarship which provide you the expenses of hostel fees and mess.

Campus Life

3.5

Various extra curricular activities are followed here. You will get the Art club, Mesa(mechanical engineering students association)which arrange social awareness programs like blood donation, quiz competition, speech and debate competition in college. Also we have NSS club for social programs. We have different teams that designs and build the sports cars like supra, bha, Arihant. Also we have robokon team that develops the robots with different themes.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel infrastructure is good.Good ambience with descent rooms is provided. Each room is shared between 3-4 students with separate toilet and bathroom and fan for each room. Rooms are aiery with atleast one window. You will get cold and hot water 24 hours. Also we have water filters on each floor.you will get the free WiFi facility with limited data per day all over the campus.we have spacious and good library with ample amount of books.separate hostel for boys and girls. Hostel mess is ok,I will give 7 out of 10 rating to mess.playground is bit smaller compared to standard one. But the rectors and hostel adminstration are helpful. They provide the basic medical facilities with good doctor.

Alumni/Alumna

Not much stronger alumni network is there as college was established in 2005 only. But seniors are really helpful in nature. They will help you with anything in there limits at any time. You will surely get there help when you are working on something extracurricular or regarding exams,in case of emergencies.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is as per the Savitribai Phule pune University as it follows the curriculum of same. For 1st and 2nd year for each semester you need to appear for 3 exams out of which 1st 2 are online of 25 marks and final exam is written exam of 50 marks. Combined percentage of all these exams are calculated and credit is given to each subject, using which the SGPA of each semester is calculated. For 3rd and last year you need to give 2 exams each semester.1st exam is in-semester of 30 marks and end semester of 70 marks.combining both the SGPA and percentage is calculated. From second year you have oral and practical exams of almost every subject of which marks are considered in the final calculation of SGPA.

Admission

After the results of 12th and JEE were aired online, you need to fill the form for taking admission to any engineering branch. The process is conducted by DTE. In this process you have to fill your marks of 12th and JEE as it was at my time, now it's CET atleast in Maharashtra State level exam conducted by state government. Then you have to fill the college and branch of engineering as per your preference and wait for 10-15 days untill they declare the results of cap round 1.same process is there for 2nd cap round if you don't get any college in round 1.similarly 3-4 rounds are conducted. Remember if you put the college for the 1st preference number and if you get it you have to take admission there.I get the admission to Sinhgad academy of engineering Kondhwa in cap round 1. There is gap of 7 days between 1st and 2nd cap round. You have to take admission in this time. I did the same and took admission by visiting the college.you need copy of following documents along with originals 10th marklist 12th marklist JEE/CET marklist Adhaar card. College leaving certificate. Passport size photos

Faculty

3.5

When I was in the first year, college had good faculty for the mechanical engineering but due to the strike of teachers in 2017 due to their pending payments, image of college got stained. Many experienced faculty members left the college. New teachers are young but not much experienced. But in all they are helpful and ready to help you and solve your queries any time of the day.

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources
