Course Curriculum Overview
1. There are many options that give you a broad prospective towards the course. 2. The course focuses on targeting real world applications from scratch. 3. The course starts from teaching the basics. This couse doesnt need a big improvment, but there are small loopholes that may make one think this should be better. Each Semester (2 semester per year) has 2 CIA exams and the time allotment is fair. And its easy to clear these exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
In DG Vaishnav College, the Course fee of B.Sc Visual Communication per year is around 1.5 lakh. Later on, there are some other fees like examination fee (around 1000rs), admission fee (around 100-200rs per application), other small amounts for subject related accessories per year would be around 2k to 2.5k. Later on in the course, some things can be brought (personally) like a dslr camera, etc. The course fee for other students is the same, but may differ of taking admission VIA. This course is very broad, i.e., there are a lot of options (subject wise).
Campus Life
There is a event held for freshers to show their talent, VFest. Takes place a month or two later. Other event, Artistics, take place in Jan and Feb, its an inter collegiate event. Sports, there are facilities, but getting into any college sports team in the first year is tough but not impossible. There is a student portal where attendance, extracurricular activities, etc can be checked.
Admission
I didnt apply to any other college for this course but there was an option but i refused to choose it. Talking about eligibility, theres no entrance exam for this couse but there is an interview that takes place. Minimum percentage should be above 60% (any board). The interview is easy, just showing your portfolio and other works can make a huge difference.
Faculty
The faculty in here are very approachable, teachers here can be said as modern because they know the trend. As i am a 1st year student doing B.Sc Vusual Communication, teachers are really cool and the HOD is chill and strict at the same time. This makes the student feel open and share thoughts with them. Yes, there are some teachers (from other departments) who are very strict, but doesn't really matter. Each semester (6 in total) has 2 CIAs, just like cycle tests. These exams are easy to clear. 5-8 students out of 100 fail to clears these exams. In the start, you might think what are you learning, but later you will recognize why is it so.
Night Life
Theres a gym for athletes, a cafeteria, a canteen, a library, a hostel in campus; from 6am to 9-10pm the gates are open, lunch, breakfast, dinner, etc is looked after. There are lot of fast food restaurants and cafes, a mall (Ampa Skywalk) near the college. There are basically two shifts so the area has got a night life and also because of the nearby area, Annanagar, it becomes a cherry on top of a cake.
