Likes
- It's an entire residential campus and has a parking space of around 2500 vehicles at a time.
- There are 20+ labs in our college and since hospital is also inside the campus our learning is entirely practical.
- Classrooms, labs and every corridor in the academic block is centrally aur conditioned.
Dislikes
- A little bit of introduction culture is there as I won't call it ragging but still it's like giving respect for no reasons to seniors.
Course Curriculum Overview
My mom is a doctor and I have seen the need of the doctors as they can bring a lot of change in the society. They are looked upon as somebody like God and this larger than life image is what I craved for. Our practical exams happens twice every semester and mains one per semester. A different from engineering or other streams but that is how it is in Medicla colleges.
Placement Experience
In medical field we get internships jobs as we are paid 40-60k by working in the college hospital or if we want we can intern else where too with a same salary or stipend, you can call it whatever. My plans though ar etj study further as I need MD degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
SCB Medical College and Hospital is Orissa's best government college for medical. One will be surprised to know that fees for MBBS is just 35000 a year and this looks surreal given the kind of amenities and teaching standards that we have.
Campus Life
Our annual fest Anaya and besides that small fests and Janmashtami celebrations and others are like excellent. We also have Durga Pujo in our campus. The campus is currently around 90 acres but construction is on and in 2 years time the campus area which is already quite huge will be doubled.
Hostel Facilities
Just 25000 for a room which is shared by three students. I am out of words to tell that how good it feels to be staying in hostels which are inside the campus and even thought strict but we have around 10 mess to choose from and we have that many canteens as well.
Admission
After NEET there are just 65000 overall seats in Government college and out of which getting admission in like one of the top medical College in my state can't be a less than dream. 35-40k is the cutoff for our college and since I made it, I looked nowhere but Scb medical College as the kind of facilities and infrastructure that we have is incomparable.
Faculty
MBBS can only taught by doctors and therefore we have specialist doctors and surgeons who teaches us. From organs to plants and healing process of everything is taught so well that Munna Bhai MBBS looks surreal.
Night Life
Cuttack is a scenic city and we have points which are scenic like Zobra Park, Bajrakabati Square, and Mahanadi View Point. These places are as peaceful as anything but as humans we do stay hungry a lot and to satisfy that, we go to nearby cafes like Jazz INN and Stikants Cafe Corner.
