Best part is the infrastructure and facilities provided and the flexibility with the payments and attendance
Best faculties of the state and a enjoyable campus life with various levels of social interaction

Dislikes

A little improvement required in the labs and hostels

Likes

The faculty is very nice for some subjects like physiology ,pharmacology,obs Gynae
The patient interaction and cases you can see like practically is great exposure
The 1st yr hostel for girls is very nice

Dislikes

The hostel after 1st year is very packed but I guess new hostels will be made soon
The workload during HS time is too much so u won’t get much time to study
The junior senior interaction amongs girls is very less, so unable to build a relationship with any senior which would have been very helpful

Placement Experience:

We have to do 1year internship in our own college for which we get paid around 45k and then we do post graduation in which ever subject we are interested in by giving more exams like neet pg or inicet for aiims etc etc

Enjoying the cool, calm days on large campus
SCB’s library and academic resources are high class.
I write write Hindi poetry, so SCB has literary or cultural events, I enjoy participating in them.

Dislikes

Medical studies are intense, and balancing theory, practicals, and clinical work can be overwhelming.
High patient load, which can make clinical work stressful.
Some lectures can be monotonous, making it hard to stay engaged.

Strong clinical exposure due to the high patient inflow.Provides hands-on experience with real patients, ensuring practical knowledge. Encourages research and case-based learning for evidence-based practice. Increased interactive and case-based discussions instead of just lectures. Pass percentage is 50%, but students must consistently prepare to clear all subjects.

SCB Medical College & Hospital is quite happening!!

Likes

It's an entire residential campus and has a parking space of around 2500 vehicles at a time.
There are 20+ labs in our college and since hospital is also inside the campus our learning is entirely practical.
Classrooms, labs and every corridor in the academic block is centrally aur conditioned.

Dislikes

A little bit of introduction culture is there as I won't call it ragging but still it's like giving respect for no reasons to seniors.

Placement Experience:

In medical field we get internships jobs as we are paid 40-60k by working in the college hospital or if we want we can intern else where too with a same salary or stipend, you can call it whatever. My plans though ar etj study further as I need MD degree.

Campus of our college is very nice that is mind blowing
Teachers are very closely and clear all our dought
Cultural festivals and different types of function organise smoothly

Placement Experience:

In our college in D pharm course after completeing 2year students were eligible for internship for 3 month.after that some students work in government and public sector and some of other student purse their carriers in higher education

The hostel environment is totally meant for studious students
The patient flow of our college is best so that you can gain more knowledge on the regular basis
It is located in central town so everything is easily accessible from campus

Dislikes

Hygenicity of the hospital is quite poor so that infection can be easily spread
The hostel is in merge with hospital so little bit disturbing
Ragging often happens in college,so newly experienced students can't tolerate

Likes

The administration of this college is very good.
Hostel facilities are nice. There is no ragging in the hostels.
The infrastructure is very nice. infact the college campus is very very large in size.

Dislikes

The quality of foods prepared in mess are below average.
Teaching is not as good as expected
Some faculties are not good upto the expectation

There is much required to improve the course curriculum and teaching method. Some things like theory class should be improved so many students should attend the classes and feel it interesting. The clinical classes are good.

Student's life at SCB medical college: a medico's insights

Likes

Experiencing healthy competition between highly talented students from Odisha and outside.
Professors are excellent in their teaching styles.
Individual equipments like microscopes are provided . Real world issues are addressed.

Dislikes

Mess food is little bit costly. And lifts are not available in hostels.

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS is a vast subject. We are taught clinical application of each and every topic. I always wanted to serve people and deep dive into the nuances of human health issues. Teaching methods should be purely clinical based so that we can cure patients. We have three internal assessment and a final exam during an academic year. Exams are bit tough as we have to cover vast syllabus within limited time.

My college is ranked as the top most government hospital in Odisha. I appreciate all the facilities available and I don't feel any field that requires improvement
As I live in the hostel I am engaged with my seniors and my batchmates on a daily basis and yes we have a very nice social interaction.
In the new infrastructure construction our college is even more growing in number of beds available for patients in the hospital along with improvement in the academic facilities.

Dislikes

I don't feel any lacking points in my college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like in helping people and it made me choose this field. Yes the studies are quiet tough and duties are hectic as well but when you get a smile from a cured patient that makes all the hard work worth it and I crave for it. I like to see a smile on patients' face. But nowadays considering the safety of doctor it is not wise enough for choosing this field....but it's totally upto you.

There is more patient flow into the hosipital as it is one of the primary hospital of Odisha.So patient exposure is much better here.
The relationship between batchmates and seniors is very good here.
Teachers are highly qualified.You will learn many things by their experience as they are professors

Dislikes

In the name of college campus there is very less space here.
As the hospital is closely situated to college there is people here and there always.
As it is a prime college and hospital of Odisha,there will always be some political influence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are 3 internals and one MB exam happening each year. Exam difficultly level is like the standard MBBS level. Teachers are very strict about the exam so that no malpractice can happen. Being a doctor is itself a nobel thing, which is par above all

What is better AIIMS Raipur, SCB Medical College, or AIIMS Bhopal?

It is recommended that you choose a national institute such as AIIMS. When deciding between Bhopal and Raipur, it is recommended that Raipur be chosen over Bhopal.

If you live in Odisha, Raipur appears to be a good option (though many would argue that Bhopal is better connected), followed by BBSR.

Bhopal was previously thought to be the top AIIMS after Delhi, but with time, it has been discovered that there isn't much difference between the newer AIIMS; in fact, news of chronic faculty shortages has surfaced at Bhopal. Raipur, on the other hand, has shown consistent progress in almost all arenas—academic and otherwise. The only reason Raipur isn't a top choice is that people perceive Chhattisgarh as a Naxal state that is backward in comparison to others, which is absurd.

If you are offered a seat at AIIMS BBSR, you should take it. If not, you should definitely consider AIIMS Raipur.
