Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course structure is vibrant but somewhat out dated. Practicals do teach us how to be in real world but real field visits and understanding is missing. Coding and technical skills are not nurtured by the college rather this is done by peers. Exams are held twice in one semester: midsem and endsem. the exams span over a time of 1 week. The exams are moderate in level and also depends upon professors.

Internships Opportunities

2

Getting an internship is a very difficult task as compared to placements. The biggest negative point is the tactics played by TPC members who always push their friends into getting an internship easily, and cutting upon students who actually deserve. This happens during the end of internships and not at an early stage. The stipened varies from 30,000PM to even 4lakhs per month. The average is 1 lakh PM. Number of companies: approx 100

Placement Experience

4

The placements of IIT BHU are amazing. Btech students become eligible for placements from 7th semester, and IDD students become eligible from 9th semester. There are no companies which hasn't made any offer after visiting. The various profiles are: Software engineer, Data Analyst, Product role,Managerial role,Data Scientist, etc. Highest package is offered in software domain. 80% students get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

*The registration fees and caution fees is charged by Josaa which is subject to changes every year. It was around 30000 in 2022. Fees for general category students and students with family income >5lakhs per annum: 1.The fees is divided semester wise. Each semester Rs.106715 is charged as academic fee. So the yearly fees becomes Rs213430. broad division is as follows: Tuition fees:100000 hostel develpment fees:2250 gymkhana :500 registration:200 2. EWS category or below <5lakh income : semester fees of about 50000rs is charged. This changes depending upon family income. 3. SC/ST: There is no tution fees for SC/ST students. They pay 6715 for each semester, thus paying Rs13430 per year. Mess fees: Apart from academic fees, the mess charges are Rs1500 per semester, which can be reduced if a student does not access mess on certain days and informs prior to the mess maharaj. Some scholarships: 1.MMVY by MP government which pays entire academic fees.(based on merit and family income of 6 lakhs is limit) 2. UP scholarship 3. Bihar loan policies 4. Reliance scholarships(based on test) 5. Scholarships by alums. note: except for mmvy scholarship, all scholarships have income limit<5lakhs .

Campus Life

5

Fests: Kashiyatra(biggest cultural fest):January Spardha(sports fest):Sep/Oct Technex(technical fest):March other club fests: FMC Weekend, Jagriti,E-summit The General Championships are also very amazing.

Hostel Facilities

4

The rooms are two seater, during 1st and 2nd year students share rooms in tripling which becomes slight congested. The rooms have 2 beds, 2 cupboards, 2 study tables and chairs. The girls hostel also has a balcony per room. Lift facility is available. Gym, parlour and canteens are present. The mess meal is amazing as compared to other places. The variety provided in messes are amazing.

Admission

IISER, Bhopal/Kolkata: The curriculum is amazing but it is more of research based,There are no clubs to pursue hobbies and no college fests. Students with interest in research field must go here. IIST, Kerala: The curriculum was completey space science oriented, I wasn't sure whether I wanted to go in that direction. Placement opportunities were restricted to research in space. The location was also too far from my residence. BITS Pilani: I was getting civil branch in BITS pilani, and mining in IIT. IIT being more reliable and less expensive. VIT, Vellore: The college has no credibility and quality of crowd.

Faculty

4

The faculty of IIT-BHU is amazing and very learned. Professors are people who have educated from top institutes around the world or worked at top notch organisations. Like every other college, the professors will look out for you only if you show some interest that you do really care about gaining the knowledge of their subject, otherwise its just them giving lectures and you jotting notes.

Night Life

5

The nightlife of campus is very vibrant. The canteens are open till 2AM . The campus is made fairly safe to stroll at night. Limbdi Corner is the hotspot for students and their 12AM birthday celebrations. One can find campus well equipped with cameras and guards at all corners. Outside the campus, the beautiful ghats of Varanasi awaits students. When in big groups, students go to the ghats for nightouts. There are many amazing eateries which are open throughout the night.

Placement Experience:

Here you'll get placement cell for placement training. But most the students studying here aren't interested in placement. Most students go for GATE examination or UPSC examination. Even I have plan to go for UPSC examination. There are many rankers passed from here. I think the highest package in 2024 was of 12LPA and average was 4LPA. There is not very high paying visit from any company. But in off campus there are some students who have cracked 45LPA per annum package at Amazon. I my opinion if you are passionate about any government examination then definitely you can opt for this college . And if you want placement then make your self perfect and go for off campus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In our autonomous batch there are more practical and project based subjects. There is one subject called design thinking in this we have to think of real life problems and empathize about it abs find or create solutions for them it can a whole new system, a simple app or machine or even a campaign as long as it helps society. There is one ihs subject also which promotes my branch (ECE) in pharmacy , like teaching about medical devices and technology and even our semestet projects are like creating portable ecg machine, creating automatic wheelchair, temprature- oxygen- heartbeat sensor abd recorder etc. It increases difficulties but also improves chances for placemenys in your 4th year if you are already creatibg such things in 1st sem. Frequency and difficulty of exam is moderate i think.
