- Best thing about this college is their knowledgeable and supporting faculty.
- The infrastructure is good enough to meet the requirements of a medical student.
- Campus is large enough but a lot is under construction. Still there's lot of place for outdoor activities.
Dislikes
- The college has many of its units under construction which makes it a little annoying sometimes due to loud noises.
- Also the locality of college is not satisfactory.
- The food in the mess is not bearable. So we usually rely on canteen or other sources.
Course Curriculum Overview
We usually have 4 exams ..1st term 2nd term and pre university these are quarterly exams and a final university exam. Along with these our faculty also provide us with part completion tests and betterment exams.
Internships Opportunities
Internship is a compulsory job to do after our final year examinations . Since I m from the second batch of this college my senior have not yet given there final year examinations so I m not that known to the intership process and work . Also the stipend in whole or uttar pradesh is very less compared to other states .
Fees and Financial Aid
Uma nath singh Autonomous state medical college jaunpur offers an affordable education with the following fees structure. First year General / OBC : Rs.36000 SC/ST: Rs.27000 Second year onwards General/OBC: Rs.24000 SC/ST: Rs.15000 Hostel fees(boys and girls) : Rs.4800 per year Plus examination fees of Rs.13000 before every university exam. College provides scholarships under government schemes to all eligible students with special provision to OBC candidates.
Campus Life
We do have organised and recieved freshers party in our college. Also there were few sports events that took place in our college campus. It is fun to get involved in these events. Our lecture theatres are fully furnished and functional.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms are spacious and ventilated . For boys they have a common washroom on each floor of hostel but for girls...we are lucky to have personal washroom attached to our rooms with a kitchen area too...the balcony is a place where you can chill when you get stressed .
Admission
To get admission in any government medical college you need to qualify NEET UG examination. Based on the rank in the exams candidates undergo a counselling process through which they are alloted a college. I was alloted jaunpur in my first round . I applied for an upgrade in college in my second round but couldn't qualify . So I was not left with any other option rather than choosing it because to take a drop year is not a very choice in my point of view
Faculty
We are the batch of 100 students with 3 subjects in first year 3 in second 2 in third and 11 subjects in final year . We have enough faculty in each department who are skilled and experienced. The faculty for anatomy , pathology ,and pharmacology department are very good as per my experience.
Night Life
Hostel timing are not always constant but usually they are till 8pm for girls and 10pm for boys everyday . But they change according to the situation and ofcourse our warden ma'am. There are very few places to hangout in jaunpur but varanasi which is just at 1 hr. Distance from jaunpur is our happy place to go to.
