Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose this course because it benefits both the software and hardware sides of any job, this course is very tough for me. It's so hard to keep up with all the studying, the teachers provide notes in class but dont provide us ppts for any exam terms.

Internships Opportunities

3

I haven't done an intership yet so I have no experience. Many known companies like Infosys, Wipro take students for interships. People also apply interships to NIT Calicut. I donot know if they offer stipend.

Placement Experience

4

From sem 5 or 3rd year, students are eligible to get placed, the campus placement percentage is more than 80, so it is okay. The highest value offered for an ECE student was 52 lakh per annum and the average pacage is 6-8 lakh per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am an electronics and communication engineering student, I don't have a scholarship and my caution deposit was 10,000. My course fee for an year is 3,40,000 and my hostel fee is 70,000. It increased by 3000 from last year.I don't have any idea about the fee structure of scholarship students.I think the course fee for a computer science student without scholarship is nearly 6,00,000, hostel fee and caution deposit remain the same as everyone.

Campus Life

3

Most of the girls here have no campus life because of our strict hostel timings, we don't have many clubs and all clubs are education related, no drama theatre, no art clubs. We have only one technical fest held every year,VIDYUT, and that too didn't happen 2024 for unknown reasons.

Hostel Facilities

2

The hostel wardens are judgemental, very judgemental. No facilities provided in the room except for three beds, three cupbards and three chairs, we have three per room in my hostel, we aren't supposed to decorate our rooms with anything, no posters, no fairy lights. The mess food is also really bad.

Admission

I chose this college because it is away from my homeplace and I wanted experinece college in some other place.I've applied to JEE and BITS, I couldn't get into either of those because I'm general category.

Faculty

4

The faculty are nice, few are really judgemental but overall they are nice.Exams are conducted twice, mid terms and end term. Class tests and assignments are given and they are our internals along with the mid terms.

Night Life

1

We have a canteen on the campus and we have a small sitting area, they are the only spots we can hangout in campus. The hostel timings for girls are the worst so we have basically no college life but we do make sure to enjoy our best in the hostel, we cannot roam at night but I do think it is a safe locality.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements are decent. getting placed in a big company is more about having the technical and soft skills to pass the interviews. the placement training helps us develop soft skills but the technical skills must be developed ourselves.

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows

There is a good placement cell in RIT Kottayam. From the 6th semester onwards students got placement training and career guidance classes and there are various clubs to improve your aptitude and chances to get the job through placement. The major recruiters of the campus are Oracle, Microsoft, Allianz, MRF, IDBI Bank, Infosys IBM, TCS, VVDN, WIPRO, Suntec EXPERION etc. There is about 75 % of students get placed every year. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.
