- Faculty and class engagement, overall classroom experience is great alongwith the synchronous and asynchronous classes
- Facilities of food court, in house cafe, and stationery available working as the last resort
- Fests and tournaments, all those who are inclined towards participating more in co curricular activities and like to participate in fest , it can be a good choice for them
Dislikes
- Parking issue- Permanent solution of parking area is still questionable which causes traffic
- Distant from city - the college is situated far from city so can be challenging at times
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum of BALLB Hons is well designed. You have the option to choose your desired specialization after 3rd year and can carry forward with that . Exams happen twice in a semester. Firstly the mid semester and secondly the end semester. The mid semester carry 20% weightage and end semester carry 50% weightage and rest 30% is allotted to internal. . The exams are not too difficult but application based and no direct questions.
Fees and Financial Aid
The semester fees approximately ranges between 1,30,00 to 1,80,000. There are following scholarships available Domicile discount ( To the domiciles of uttrakhand) Girls Scholarship ( With sgpa and attendance criteria) Merit scholarship
Campus Life
The sports fest in UPES is called SPANDAN which involves intra school participating in the different types of sports such as cricket football volleyball basketball,etc. the team comprises of both students and teachers. The cultural fest is named as UURJA wherein a celebrity face is called for the dj night, last year it was Darshan Raval. So , it can be a great experience overall. Thirdly, Dholida or Garba night is also very exhilarating and full of fun. One can also join various clubs and become a member of various committees during the entire course period as per their preference.
Admission
I chose UPES School of law, Dehradun, because it it is my hometown Dehradun and it was thus on my priority. secondly I couldn't make it to Nlu therefore I thought of it. Except it's hefty fees structure everything is good. Therefore consider joining it only after reviewing the latest fee structure. The admission procedure is easy as you can apply online and you have to give an entrance test and qualify it. You can also attain merit scholarship on the basis of your 12th marks
Faculty
Faculty is good. They indulge a lot in class group discussions and have a great teaching experience. The course plan is also well designed and internals assignment can be more scoring and well developed
Night Life
So, there is availability of Gym inside the campus and also various cafes such as House of Dough, Frisco and the food court. The coffee at Frisco is good and one can surely try it. Famous place outside the campus is Kandoli adda and Bidholi maggie point, riverside area. The night life is good and one can check the college hostel too for accomodation. There are many pg and hostel near the college campus such as , Ashirvad,Manilla,etc
