Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is comprehensive and to the point. As it is a law degree the curriculum consits of the several laws, acts, statutes, legislature in India and some from around the world. There's need for it to be upto date. The syllabus in some parts is outdated. There's a sem exam at the end of every semester and it usually lasts for 2-3weeks.
Fees and Financial Aid
Year wise fee paid is 2500 and that is the tuition fee for a year. During the time of the admission you are supposed to pay PTA fund, Caution Deposit and Admission fee which will be a total of 6000. People who are eligible to avail E-grants doesn't have to pay any fee
Campus Life
Campus life here is pretty bland. There's not much festivals happening. There is a literature fest and arts fest. Along with a law fest which includes moot court, mock parliament and trial advocacy competition. There's also 2 sports fests .
Hostel Facilities
For hostels you have to prefer to stay out of the campus as the college hostel only have accomodation of 30 people. College hostel provides good facilities with 3times food, washing machines and all. I have rented a room 2km from the college
Admission
I applied to the Government Law College, Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram. I choose this college as it is nearer to me and is the best one of the three. The High Court is nearer. There is an all Kerala entrance examination you need to clear for admission. The admission process is through allotment by the CEE.
Faculty
The faculty are very much approachable and friendly, but most of them are prejudictic. Most of the faculty are guest faculty. There is a semester wise exam and those are really hard to ace, you get a pass mark with a lot of effort. Nearly 20 students from each year fails the exam.
Night Life
Night life is enjoyable only if you are in an apartment or a boy's hostel. Women's hostels have a curfew at maximum 10pm. Gyms, cafes, libraries all of it closes at night. There is Kochi Marine drive, and Subhash Park, Fort Kochi, Mattancheri, Vypin, Edappally Lulu Mall around the area.
