Course Curriculum Overview

4

B.tech is most promising course to get a good job in future as the world is revolutionising i waanted to be a part of that revolution curriculum of nist helps us in getting ready for the industry demands as a 1st year student i can't say much about improvent in course curriculum but i want to say that college should focus more on core subjects rather than other subjects frequency of exams are 2 and half months and difficulty of exams are more than average as technology is growing rapidly we are expected to perform better

Placement Experience

Admission

i applied for VSSUT, Burla and ITER(SOA), Bhubaeswar and i got admission letter of NIST berhampur because i am from different state and I didn't knew that OJEE ( state Jee exam of odisha) does not allow outside students for govt college it was my mistake that i got here but after taking admission i can say that it's not a bad college Admission process is average like first you will apply online and then they will call you and give you a date to yake admission eligibility is 12th pass with 45% in PCM for Btech

Faculty

The Faculty to student ratio is 1:20, talking about relation between stuents and faculty then i would say it's pretty good so far i've seen. Faculties are good and they are easily approchable even outside the classroom they helps us Till now i like my english professor , she is good and kind in nature she supports us in personality development more than completing the syllabus there are no faculty i would say that i don't like i've been scolded sometimes but in those time there was my mistake so i can't hate them for my mistakes Exams are like hell In every semester there is 2 exam - Mid sem and End sem some students get backlog during end sem due to lack of practice but after second time most students clears that exam course curriculum is highly relevent and up to date with industry standards

Night Life

3

Gym is well equipped with all kinds of bodybuilding machnies every student hangs out in the U bench area near college bus stop there are plenty of fast food restaurants , most students go to the main city to relax every sunday. The Last time to get inside the campus is 10:00 PM

Placement Experience:

Placements in our college are good but not great. Th overall performance of students getting placement from every branch course combined is more than seventy percent. But the percentage in branch to branch respective wise is different , as Computer science engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering and Electrical Engineering have higher placement rates than any other courses. From Seventh semester students became eligible for sitting in placements. You can say from the start of Fourth year students sit in placements. Many companies visit and offer placements to our students but the big companies are TCS( Tata consultancy services) , Infosys, Adani Limited , Reliance Limited , Tata Power and Co.. The highest package offered to our branch course ( Electrical Engineering ) Is 13 LPA by Tata Power. The percentage of students getting placed by Electrical Engineering is pretty good and is 77%. Overall percentage of students from all branches is 72%. My plans after getting the degree is simple. I am preparing for placements and also for gate exam . I want to give myself a chance . I will try to get a big placement from a big company as I want . If that doesn't go according to my plan I will try to qualify gate exam and will do Masters in Technology in a. Higher Institute.

Remarks:

No other options left at that particular time.Since I was waiting for the counselling of JEE mains and advance to get over fetching me into any college under it under the newly allocated EWS quota; But the reservation was too small that I was proudly rejected. Getting the desired branch is one of the possible reason for taking admission in KIIT.
