Likes

availability of books in library for reference to our topics and syllabus
we have morning college and the professors including the schedule the schedule maintain and even maintaned punctually
the common room of this college is a good place to sit and work and even to practice gor programs

Dislikes

very few professors are helpful but handful of them sometimes deny to cooperate with the students
we are not properly updated every details of exams and events from the college
the staffs for official purpose do not offer instant help rather makes us wait for days

Course Curriculum Overview

I have chosen this course because I heard that part of history was included in Bengali paper and I prefer to study Bengali and History most than other subjects. Hence I found a mixture of these particular two subjects in Bengali General paper.

Class Size: 10Course Fees: INR 100000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure remains same for every caste student and remains same for every year .Someimes the fees structure may vary due to the preference of subjects by an individual. As I am in three years course so total fees structure approximates to (6000* 3 = 18000)

Campus Life

We have departmental freshers and overall college fresher arranged by Union leaders . We go and even send accomplished students for other college fests and competitions but we don't have any college annual program . Some years teacher's day is also celebrated . During holi Basanta Utsav is conducted and on Saraswati Puja we have puja in our college and everyone is invited on the very day .

Admission

I had chosen Jogamaya Devi College because its a reputed girls college . It also has morning schedule and even the distance from my residence is allright for me and these aspects attracted me the most .

Faculty

The Bengali General major paper contains FM 65 abd sometimes 80 ( theory ) and internal or tutorial ( 35 and sometimes 20) . Our faculty has some good professors who explains very nicely and few professors' lectures are not understandable to the students.

Interview Experience

no , we had to submit our Higher secondary examination result and based on that we were short listed and admitted. We didn't have any interview or written examination. I hope this system will continue in the upcoming years.

Night Life

We have Lake Mall , Alipore Museum , Kalighat near our college . Even its a mid spot to travel toward Gariahat , Alipur Zoo , National Library, Rabindra Sadan . Metro and other land transportation is readily available. Fast food centres ,small cafes are available.

I wanted to explore the CS stream from the beginning so I joined this program. The faculty: student ratio in BA is good and is around 1:7. All the teachers are well equipped and have complete knowledge of the subjects they are teaching. The exams were difficult as compared to the SPPU endsem exams, but that is expected from a college of such repute.

I choosen this course because of interest in the field of Information techn...ugy. Faculties are very good and they have good teaching experience. Qualification for the faculty is 7 to 8 years teaching experience and degree of PHD. Term exams held two times ever year. Difficulty is moderate.
