Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course M. Sc in mathematics at department of mathematics in BHU has a very good value in all over the world. Because I had to do phd so I joined here for Msc because they teach varity of subjects in mathematics. Also they teach reseach topics which helps you getting in phd easily. There are applied maths courses also like optimization, Pde which is useful in real world prolems. Also they teach how to find a way to get success and not down yourself in bad times. The semester exams makes you better for your writing and understanding of subjects. There are beautiful corses like topology. If they can add a project work in last semesters then the course will be very good for future for students. Also they can add one or two presentation for each student so they they can develop their teaching skill. Also some teachers are not good in some subjects so if department assign them their interest of subject for teaching they teaching can be improved. Sometimes the gap between two semester exams is not more than one day which is not good for students mental health. The gap between two sem exams must be more than 2 days. So that they can prepare properly. Others things are good. Exams are of good difficult level which prepare you for future and it is necessary also.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for first sem is 2800 For 2nd sem 325 for 3rd sem 2200 and for 4th sem it is 825. Hence total tution fees is around 7000. Hostel fees is 2875 per semester and in first year extra 2000 security money is deposited. But it is returned after completing course. (Security) For mess charge you have to pay per diet or per month which is around 3000 per month and 50 per diet

Campus Life

There are many conference held in department on a regular basis. Student well being cell is there which helps student for their good mental health. Akansha fest is held in faculty of science in which writing essay, poetry, singing ,dancing , drawing, face of fest and many more to explore yourself in different modes every year. There is a big library in Bhu. Basically Asia's biggest library named Central Library or sayaji rao. Also there is cyber library with more than 800 computers all working. In each departments there are also libraries. In central Library you can get every book you want related to your course. Also there are vearity of books in science, arts, technology, history and many more. The central Library has more than 500 capacity. You can issue the books from library for two momths without any cost. After 2 months 1 rupee per is charged. Sports activities are held across all the games every year. The games like football, volleyball, kabaddi, cricket, basketball, badminton, kho kho, table tennis, tug of war, running, long jump, discuss throw, and many more. Also they are held in both categories in men and women. Also certificates and medals are provided. You can also participate in inter faculty sports like cricket, kabaddi, football, badminton, hockey and many more. You can participate at university level also by giving trialsq without any pre certificate. There many student groups like abvp and many more. And snowdrop foundation which unites the students and do good for poor people. Stay away from bad groups like smoking. Because that can ruin you life. There is a little groups like that.

Admission

I prepared for Iit Jam exam and I qualified also. But rank was not too good for getting a IIT. I was getting nit colleges. Whose fees were very high. So I chose for university and then I gave the exams of Cuet pg in mathematics which is of 400 and I got 180.Then I applied for Bhu and I got a seat and also hostel. Also another reason was that it was only 200 km away from my home. Another reason why I chose Bhu over nits is that it has a very good ranking. All over under 20 , top 5 in university, and far better than nits and some low ranked iits. I had completed Bsc honors from here so I knew it very well. I also applied for du and got a seat in one college but at that time I completed one month of class I Bhu so I didn't thought to go there. The fees is very low in Bhu, well qualified teachers and a good classroom and good sports infrastructure attracted me to get here the best. The admission process is very easy , you have to give cuet pg exam in the subject you want to do masters. Then after result of cuet pg. You have to apply for Bhu where they conduct counselling in 2 to 3 stages. But if you have more than 170 from UR categery your admission is confirmed. For Obc it is 130 for sc 80 for st 60 and for pwd 40.This cut is for maths, different cut off for different departments. But your rank is under 200 most likely you will get admission. The campus is very beautiful you will love it.

Faculties are well qualified in all the departments. The people have done their phd from iisc, iits are also there as professors. They are very helpful to students. Some may be rude but it's okay because there are too many good so one bad doesn't matters. In department of Mathematics professor Ashish Kumar upadhay, Harish Chandra, Sashikant mishra, Krishnendu Bhattacharya, Akhilesh Yadav, Mukut mani tripathi they are very helpful to students and also well qualified. In physics Department I can mention Dr. Rajnish. Some are also not good because they didn't teach properly. The exams are held semesterwise. Also there is midsem held for 20 marks in between the semester, most likely after 2 months. 10 marks are based on attendence and class performance. And at last semester exam is held for 70 marks. Exams are not tough. Mostly they ask from notes they make. And another tip I can give to get good marks is that solve prvious year papers for last 3 to 4 years. 80 percent question are being asked form there. I would suggest keep studying regularly atleast 2 but not more than 4 hours daily. And before 20 days of semester you can increase number of house 7 to 10.In this way you can get very good Cgpa more than 8. The marking of most teachers is very good. They give you numbers. But some professors do not give easily. You have to right evrything correct and give them long answer. Then only you can get number. But if you study regular basis you can get good marks in any. So be focused at class times revise regularly.

Night Life

There is big gym in faculty of science at one time more than hundred can do. There are 3 to 4 open gyms also. The library is very big, have good strength and good environment to study. The campus is opoened all time for students if they needed to go somewhere. Hostel is closed between 11 pm to 5 am for boys and girls both. But if you need to outside urgent you can go also. The boys hostels are morw flexible than girls The departments open at 9 am and closed 5 pm. But in some departments phd scholars work in night also for their research perspective. The campus is very beautiful to hangout also there is Vishwanath temple inside which enhances the beauty. There is IIT bhu in university also where you can go and hangout. And can see the life of IIT. Since it is situated in Banaras there are too many places for hangout like Big Vishwanath temple in Godauliya, Assi ghat, manikarnika ghat, ramnagar kila, lakhaniya dari. Also you can enjoy cinema near Bhu. It is too much safe in nights

Course Curriculum Overview:

This is a postgraduate course so I took admitted to this course because I want to become a lecturer (Professor). So after doing this I want to pursue a doctorate degree. Teacher student ratio in this course is 1:60 In this college, there are both permanent faculty and guest faculty. Permanent faculty has better teaching skills than the guest faculty because the majority of them are students who pursue doctorate degrees under the guidance of this college's Professors. They generally lack experience. The teaching method is excellent for permanent faculty. Exams are held timely. One is held in the month of December and the other in May. There are four semesters in this course. The paper level is difficult. One needs a descriptive knowledge of the subject to score good marks in examinations. Previous year papers can provide a lot of help.
