Course Curriculum Overview

5

The departments makes sure that the curriculum is easy for students to understand and they have realistic syllabus. I wish biotech department are little more organised, the laboratory wise etc. we have 2 different topics in each subject in a semester and different teachers take that topics

Placement Experience

5

For biotechnology there are no placements as of i know. But there are so many placement opportunities for commerce. There is a association named placement cell. And students with no active backlogs and in the third can appear for placement. I am going to join a different college for masters

Fees and Financial Aid

I am my bachelor of science. For the first year, i paid 110000 and the second and the third year, I paid 128000. The college provides various scholarship opportunities for students. The college helps associations that help students knowing the schemes and scholarships that are meant for students.

Campus Life

4

The college is nice but I feel the environment is depressing and boring. After the college turned into co- education. There is no place inside the college, the college is always crowded. The academics are great in mount Carmel college

Admission

The admission process of Mount Carmel college is like any other colleges, you have to apply through online and some courses have entrance exams, while some do not have. I wanted to join this college because I did my PUC in Mount Carmel PU college and degree was fun to know.

Faculty

5

The whole department of biotechnology and chemistry consists of many teachers. Teachers are very organised in the teaching. They are very friendly and very approachable. You can ask doubts anytime and they'll be ready to clear them. We have semester wise and each semester has two CIAs, and 1 end semester exam. If you fail the exams , you can take up the supplementary exams. Most of the students clear their papers and supplementary papers are very difficult.

Night Life

5

The college is surrounded with many pgs, and many cafe's. There are gyms also available near college. The college also provides hostel facilities. You can get anything and everything near college. And this is so good

Placement Experience:

At St Aloysius University, students typically become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester onward. Reputed companies like Infosys, wipro, TCS etc have visited the campus offering multiple roles in IT services, research and analytics. The highest package has been around 7-8 LPA while the average has been around 3-4 LPA depending on the company and the profile of the student. Around 60-70% of eligible students secure placement each year

REVA University, Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Biotechnology)
Reviewed on Jul 4, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate it around 8/10 for relevance and comprehensiveness. I chose this course because it offered solid foundational subjects that aligned with my interests. The curriculum prepares students well for higher studies and provides decent exposure to lab techniques. However, for real world readiness, it could be improved. Teaching methods are mostly theory-heavy and would benefit from interactive approaches. Exams are moderately difficult and conceptual clarity and regular revision helps in scoring well.

Placement Experience:

First of all, there isn't a passed out batch yet(as of 2025). The first batch enrolled in 2023 and they are currently in internship period as they've planned. Placement will be offered at the end of 4th year. Although for internships, around 50+ companies visited and 96% of students got internships. The average stipend was 30,000 INR and the highest stipend was 200,000 INR (non-domestic). My plans after getting the degree are to gain some experience and go for a masters in business if possible.

There is 100% placements assured from college also we get more options for interviews and companies. I got placed from college in Tommy Hilfiger after my degree.

Remarks:

Positive remarks: • The senior, junior, classmates are very helpful and cooperative. • The professors are also very helpful and concerned about our studies. Negative remarks: The authority is not so helpful. They take many steps against the students' sake and this is the main cause for decreasing the college's overall performance.
