Course Curriculum Overview

3

I didn't check for the curriculum before applying for this college. The curriculum is good enough to prepare you theoretically for work. And there are certain courses and internships you need to do to clear the semester. Teaching methods can be changed because some staff have much knowledge but fail to enlighten the students about the same. The exams are split between 2semesters which are 6 months apart. But there are internal exams, quiz and practical a month before commencement of the semester exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearwise fees I paid for tuition was 15800 which included everything. And the hostel fees was 24000. But it varies from hostel to hostel. I paid 48000 per semester because I got scholarship for being financially backward. Most of my batchmates received this kind of concession. If the marks were high enough and you're from a economically weaker class you'd receive concession.

Campus Life

3

We get 2 long holidays which is summer and winter vacation other than that we can massage bunk for diwali and Holi and dussehra with the permission of our faculties. The library consists of all kinds of books necessary for all the courses in the university. And also there are individual libraries for each department which contains a lot more books and dissertations to read from. The facilities in the classes are lacking. Even the technological provisions in the labs are outdated and mostly faulty. Sports culture is nice. Annual sports meet is conducted without fail to brighten up the students and give them a sense of competition. There are multiple clubs and groups like photography, chess, badminton, drama, etc and social groups like anti ragging which is helpful for the students in the day to day life in college.

Hostel Facilities

3

There's table and chair for each student in the room and one shelf. And they also provide a cot per student. The rest of the amenities the students should bring in their own. The rooms were very bad when I was doing my btech but now theyve renovated the rooms. The meal quality is okayish. They provide Non veg 5 nights a week and there's sambhar, daal and sabji every day at lunch. The registration process for hostel happens during admission. For first years they provide OH hostel which only has 1st years and we can choose International hostel, But this hostel is only for big shots with recommendation.

Admission

I applied to TNEU aka Anna University and I got confirmed admission but it wasn't the college i wanted to study in so I preferred this college as it was a Christian college. No i didn't get rejected from any other colleges but I tried some other colleges whose fees was too high for me to afford. Namely VIT and Karunya University. The admission process is simple, there's an exam conducted by the college and you'll be able to select courses according to your rank. My rank was pretty high, so I was able to select the course that I wanted to pursue. I'm not very sure about the cutoff but I think it's around 70 for highly demanding courses like agriculture and biotechnology. And around 50 for Civil and Computer Science Engineering. The admission process was simple and efficient.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is 1:50. The facilities are friendly and approachable. Students who are willing to learn call call the facilities any time to clear their doubts. All the facilities in Civil engineering department are caring and come to classes regularly. There are atleast 8 subjects each semester. In a class of 60 atleast 15 students fail to clear the exam. The course curriculum is based off the latest curriculum and is very relevant to this time.

Interview Experience

3

There was only one admission exam for merit and the top ranked got the courses they desired. The process was simple exam was conducted then according to the merit rank students were called during the admission process to select the course they desired. I studied all class X and XII syllabus to prepare for the exam.

Night Life

3

There's one gym which has quite a few basic equipments but it's often closed or not in use. There are multiple cafes and cafeterias inside of the college campus which is open till 6pm. And there is one central library and every department has their own library. The classes end at 5:00. Hostel timings are 9:00pm for men's hostel and 7:30 for girls hostel. The campus timings are not existent as anyone can enter the college campus anytime. Common hangout places inside the campus are Love Lane and Love Garden and Mallu tree. Outside the campus are khan chauraha and outside second gate there are multiple tea and coffee shops. The college campus is safe but the locality outside is not safe for girls after 8:00 as there are indecent local guys who are always seen bothering the college girls after evening.

Other Applied Colleges

Anna University - [AU] | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Civil Engineering)

Because my cutoff was too high to get placed in top colleges of Anna University.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose B.Tech CSE course as I am interested in Computer and Coding. Don't go behind the trend. Choose the course according to your interest. Every course and specialization is difficult in its own. Personally I suggest if you took addmission and you are in 1st semester, please focus on your studies. Don't kept roaming and bunking classes as 75% attendance is also necessary.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is Totally academic level which is easy to moderate There are only one or two coding subjects which is done in form of workshops The overall syllabus is good but old and is related to aktu syllabus which needs a change and won't help in technical field a lot Curriculum is still moderate and easy to clear but still some students are back and detained due to less attendance Which is the biggest issue in this college that is 85% u can only take 6-7 holidays in a semester which is so less and two three holiday will let u detained in sessionals which will overall decrease the internal marks in your overall cgpa of college

Course Curriculum Overview:

The subjects like ITC, COI influenced me as why they are in the curriculum they don't provide any skills for the engineering students. Students also studies these subjects in one day and give exam and they forget these subjects add no importance in the curriculum. There are subjects like acquiring buisness communication which helps us to improve our conversation skills confidence that is helpful in the future while interviews. The improvement in the subjects which is not useful for engineering and to increase more things which helps us in coding make us skill good. The frequency and timings of exams are quite tough there are consecutive classes along sessional exams student always stressed and the attendance is also higher so the student can't also take leave for his own mentality stability and to relax . The difficulty is quite high .

Our curriculum gets better from this year as so many changes occur due to college become autonomous Like a better coding platform bought by college for student i.e. CODETANTRA and some subjects of 2nd year introduced in the 1st year like COLD and DSTL , Promoting students to participate in Hackathon by mailing to the students about each and every big or small hackathon . Giving them free attendance for that thing . The frequency of exams are about 20 days .
