Course Curriculum Overview

3

Our curriculum is all good and cover many range of topics which are mostly important and we also had may revision sessions but are very few and as a suggestion i would like some of the teachers to improve the way they take the classes . Sometime at the end of the semester they will hurry up and finish the portions so fastly. We also have 1/2 internals in each semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am a student who is pursuing BA Mass communication and journalism in Ansar Women's College Perumpilavu. I have been paying 25,000 in the first year and both in second and third year I have paid 22,365. We have told to pay other tution fee, union fee, sports fee and lab fee etc. even though there is no use of it. Mostly all fee are the same for both management and merit students in this college. There is also financial aid which is provided to particular students. About the fees of my batchmates are the same and if we have any financial issues they may consider after looking out the reason. Mostly, they will offer some extra time to pay the fees.

Campus Life

1

In our college we have several clubs and cells which have a variety of activities and programs but the thing is that because of the college environment many of them are not willing to participate. And also many of the clubs and cells are not much active nowadays. Still we have many clubs and cells where there are many members. We also have few college program like arts and sports but no much technical support from the college

Hostel Facilities

2

The hostel is in the same compound as of college and is managed by the college management. The monthly fees of our college hostel is 8400. Facilities like wifi is available but not stable and we all face problems regarding that . We are also provided with laundry facility but many of our dress are not washed properly or it may go missing and also we may get our clothes torn. I have used to give my clothes in laundry but many of them are missing for more than an year. Even if we use or not they will not deduct the amount. We have rooms where 5-6 students stay. The hostel food is not much liked by the students but sometimes the food is nice and okay but sometimes it is the worst and we all used to get the steel of the scruber and worms and many plastic paper's and things with the curry . Also many times many of the students have been hospitalized as they got food infection. Overall, it is okay but still many things can be taken into action or done in a rightful way so that all the students and those people who stay there will feel relaxed and comfortable. For joining in hostel we have to pay the first three months fee, establishment fee and all those bed and pillows cash and all. The hostel is in the same compound as of college

Admission

As an NRI student I didn't get any allotment in other colleges and lastly I had to come and join ansar college as there were only few seats left in many colleges and also for my course. I applied for many other colleges and had good marks too. Many colleges preferred state syllabus students and all those students who passed 12 th from gulf countries or any other where given less importance. So at last I had to take management seat in Ansar. I think if I had the opportunity to go to another college of course I will ask I think I will have more space there.

Faculty

2

In our department our total strength is only about 60-65 students and we have 5 teachers. Our relationship between the teachers are very good and they are also ready to help us in some cases . Sone of the teachers are friendly but few of them will restrict us.

Night Life

1

There is no night life in our college but those who are in the hostel do sit and talk when we get time but those are also restricted in many ways. Recently, we got a school cafeteria which is brought up in ansar compound for all the students. This cafeteria works up till 8/9 pm. So many of the hostelers do come and buy things which are available there. There is no much things to do or are not available in our college and have also restricted us. There is no specific surroundings to roam around our college. Our college and hostel are in the same compound as of the ansar english school. And when we finish our campus at 3:30 we used go to drink our tea after that for a limited time we are allowed to be there but only at the front of our hostel. And after when we go to message for our dinner by 7:30 , we have to walk for a distance and while returning after eating we used to sit somewhere around there but then too if someone sees us thet we are told to go inside our rooms.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course as i love journalism but haven't looked into curriculum before admission. Curriculum is quite good but some portions are irrelevant. Practicals are very less in the college which is really important for this course. The areas related to television and radio broadcasting should be improvised. Exams are once in 6 months

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well after my 12th this whole concept of media and getting into the world of media studies has kept me always on the edge of the seat. Because during my early days in IB I always had a knack for media studies and always be the top of my class. I just loved the world of media. There are just lots of things to do in media. Its a very productive genre for youths in working and creativity areas. Companies look forward to people like me. Our skill is their definition towards a new growth. The way how college prepares you for exams. Good luck with that. I don't think they mentally prepare us. They never teach us, so that's out of option. This is why the majority fails in my class. They are given a whole chapter without explanations. How can us as a student be prepared for the future?
