Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is relevant enough. But this year the entire structure have changed since the four year UG program started. It is said that their syllabus is much more updated and advanced than ours. The curriculum provides theoretical knowledge needed for the real-world applications. It is moderate for me on the difficulty level.

Placement Experience

5

Placement cell is avilable in the college for all the courses except BSc psychology. Final semester students are eligible for placements. Companies like vipro, deloitte, piramal finance etc offers placements here. The average package is 3L per annum. I plan to go for higher education

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is different for each course. For my course (BSc psy) it is around 3500. This includes all the fee except exam fee. Those of minor categories has less fees. Also, the most scoring student in previous semester need not pay any fee in the next sem. Alumini of the college provides financial support for some students. Various scholarships are also available.

Campus Life

4

Prajyoti is a small college. There are 5 departments each with class strength of average 45. A plus point of this is that everyone gets to know each other one way or another. The major festivals here are onam celebration, talent's day, college day and fine arts day. Talents day is specifically for the freshers. Additionally each department can conduct their own respective fests (eg: tech fest by Department of Computer science). The infrastructure and technologies are good enough but can be improved. The library facility is good. It is accessible from 9 to 4.30. The sports activities here are cycling, yoga and football. There are various clubs coordinated by students themselves as well

Admission

This college was my priority while applying because it is well reputed, especially for the course I've selected. I applied other colleges only as a back up option. Eligibility criteria for admission was marks of plus two. Ni additional entrance tests were needed.

Faculty

4

The faculties are the best asset of this college. There are enough professors and all of them are approachable. Each of them have a unique style. Its hard to choose a favorite. And they are very friendly outside the classroom. Their knowledge on their respective subject should be commented on. The courses are divided into 6 semesters. We have one internal exam and one main exam each semester. The exams and valuation follows the pattern of calicut university.

Night Life

3

There is no night life in this campus. The college time is till 3.30. The students are allowed to stay in the campus till 6 unless there are some special programs. Library is open till 4.30. There is one canteen, it is open till 5.30. There are two girl's hostel in the campus. There is a fruit garden, which is a personal favorite hangout spot. Other spots are basketball court, meditation area, and sitting area infront of the main block.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel in love with mathematics in plus two time. The coursee are more application based when compared to other. Out college being an autonomous college has good grip to keep up to the level of good education. Overall teaching methods and syllabus are very good. Frequency of exams are troublesome during the last time of year because all the programmes like youth festival annual day etc come together

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Bsc Biotechnology. It is a research associated course. Its main scope is in research. But in every industry let it be medical or industrial a biotechnologist is required. I would like more practical knowledge than theory knowledge in this course as it is needed to be implemented in labs hands on experience is essential. Exams are conducted every 6 months as semester. Class tests and model exams are conducted frequently. Assignments, projects, seminar ,etc.. are given every month.
