Course Curriculum Overview
The creative assignments and learnings of how to think out of the box made me choose this course. The curriculum prepares us well and we learn how to move forward. but the real world is something which we learn only when we enter the field. The teaching methods can improve by introducing more practical engagements and field visits. Frequency of exams are not to much and exams are easy to clear.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearwise fees is around 3lakh but can increase upto 10 percent every year. There is a caution fees of 20000 that is taken during admission, and admission fee is same as the semester fee. It comes in an even out number and i dont think we know the break down of that. All other streams offered here, like UX design, Interior design, Product design, has the same fee structure like ours. Our college comes under no such guidelines that can give financial aid to the students.
Campus Life
Our college has a few events, none ot them is considered as the annual fest or something like that. The biggest one is CosArt which is a 2 day event featuring art exhibitions stalls cultural programs. Our library is really vast, and in almost every aspect youll get a book there, but they have really small stock of magazines. Tech aspects and facilities of classes are not that great but not that bad as well. The sports and extracurricular activities are huge here, we have a lot of events tournaments going live very frequently.
Admission
I applied for SID and SSPAD, in SID i was put in waiting list and in my college i got sortlisted sooner.. so i opted for my college. Admission process is really simple, there is an exam called SEED, you need to qualify that, and then you get yourself into a Portfolio review and Personal interview round. If you qualify that you get in.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is about 30:1. The relationship between us and our faculties is really nice and they are approachable easily. Our best faculties are Maria Shakir, Kriti Singh and Rohini Sawant, they have a unique way of dealing with us and teaching things, they make us feel that we can ask questions and make sure we know everything, not only things in the syllabus but everything. The faculty i dont like is Aditi Lule, she is a really nice and helpful person, and she tries to teach well but she is not able to keep up with the modern trends and softwares. There are only 2 exams per semester, midterms and the final jury, both of them are fairly easy and none of us fail. Curriculum is pretty relevant.
Interview Experience
There was a portfolio review and personal interview round, there it was mostly about my art and portfolio, questions asked were about them only and some theories which i used while making them. The process is you need to enroll for SEED and if you qualify the exam, youll be sortlisted for the interview and if you qualify the interview youll be shortlisted for admission. I did not prepare for the interview but i used mocktests for the exam. SEED
Night Life
The gym and cafeteria of the campus are very crouded at the evenings and they close off around 9pm. Hostel timings are upto 11:30 and for those who are not from hostel, can enter college untill its 9pm. Hangout spots are mostly in campus as the locality is not that safe around there.
