Dislikes
- No proper rainwater management system hence a little trouble in monsoon
- Girls to boys ratio is very less especially in branches like civil and mechanical.However, it is improving right now due to 10% reservation for girls in IITs
- The bus facilities are worst. The most serious problem is language barrier, you cannot communicate with lower grade employees untill you don't know the Tamil language
Course Curriculum Overview
Even though it's an online Degree, the environment is quite engaging. They divided students in 12 houses and organize many intra house competition to attain maximum participation of the students. The flexibility, it allows us to choose how many courses one want to register according to their capability or time and even allows to pursue this any other Degree along with it. Healthy discussion, they have a separate discussion forum where students can discuss anything either its about academics or their hobbies. Since it's an online Degree with almost no entry barrier, many professionals are also pursuing it making an opportunity to make good connections with industry experts.
Fees and Financial Aid
Total fees structure is 24000 for one year we can pay the amount semester wise for 1 St semester 131500 and second semester 110500 and rest of the three years will be 221000 for each semester Tution fees is 100000 for each semester For scholarship eligibility criteria isFamily annual income should not exceed INR 4.5 Lakhs .67% tuition exemption. Available for only 25% of students admitted. Renewal of scholarship every semester requires a minimum GPA of 5.0. in the previous semester
Campus Life
Since it's an online degree there's no campus life but you can visit the campus during Paradox, the tech fest of IITM organised by BS students(online students). But despite being online it has good social activities unlike any other online degree Faculties of this Degree is highly educated and from all over the top reputed colleges of India. Even though they provide recorded lectures i.e. 2 years old , they take weekly session to cover the doubts of the students, the session is taken either by faculty itself or by teaching assistants. Almost all faculties had put their whole effort to make the topics interesting and engaging for students despite being recorded, but come on some exceptions are always there.Students have to give an entrance exam conducted by IITM itself, the fee for which is 3000 INR(1,500 INR for SC/ST) but JEE students who have qualified for JEE Advanced don't need to give the exam but have to register for the program by paying the same fee. Students from any background can avail for this Degree if they have English and Maths as the main subject in 10th class, there is no age barrier as well. After the registration you will be enrolled in program and they will provide you 4 weeks of content, the exam will come from these content only. There is no cutoff for this exam but you have to score minimum 40% in qualifier exam to continue program(35% for OBC/EWS and 30% for SC/ST). The registraion opens three times a year i.e.November,June and August the time may vary a little bit.

Courses are amazing and interesting to study Regular tests and level of assignment are up to the mark Faculty are verry good and explains everything nicely Placement by IITM is provided which will also increase in the upcoming years It being a four year degree you can apply to gate and foreign universities Knowlwdge of the subjects which I gained. The proficiency of the faculty in the subject being taught
Faculty
The specific aspect of curriculum is that it exposes the student to the actual applications of data science in the real world . The exams are held monthly once. Their difficulty level can be rated moderate.The faculty to student ratio is quite huge because the course is online but technically it's 1:1 as a student is only learning from a single faculty at a time while watching his / her lectures. There are 3 exams , namely 2 quizzes and 1 end semester exam
Night Life
Since it's an online degree there's no campus life but you can visit the campus during Paradox, the tech fest of IITM organised by BS students(online students). But despite being online it has good social activities unlike any other online degree.The annual fest is named as paradox in which all the online students are also welcomed. It comprises of wide ranging activities from extracurricular activities to online gaming . There are many online groups of students which are inclined for a special cause , same as a club in offline mode. For example my friend is a part of Google student developer club of iitm online degree
