- A few of the professors are very knowledgeable as well are the experts of their fields. They are also very skilled in teaching the concepts in a very good manner.
- Cells and Committees are very active and work in a very systematic manner.
- Seniors are very interactive and friendly. They are very eager to help you in your doubts regarding academics, internships or even competitions.
Dislikes
- Infrastructure is below par its legacy and name.
- Administration is also plagued with bureaucratic red tape
- Boys' hostel is like a ruin with almost no amenities.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is nice and the professors are pretty helpful. But it is outdated compared to other NLUs or Law Colleges. It needs a revamp and requires to include teaching law from the first or second semester only.
Placement Experience
The placements start from the 4th year and the companies visiting the college include some of the Tier 1 firms such as Trilegal, Khaitan, SAM. While, it also includes many tier 2 companies as well as tier 3 companies and many banks and other firms. The highest package offerred this year was Rs. 20 lakh per annum by Khaitan, which was a PPO.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly tuition fee for the BA LLB Course is Rs. 43,135, while for BBA LLB its Rs. 25,000 but it varies by a small margin every year. Further, the hostel fee per annum is Rs. 55,000 for boys' hostel and Rs. 2,37,000 per annum for girls' hostel. Although, there are various scholarship provision for students in the reserved category Maharashtra Students Quota, only one or two programmes are functional for OMS Category students. But, there are a few private trust scholarships endorsed by the college such as Foundation for Excellence Scholarship for Law Students.
Campus Life
The infrastructure is not so vibrant, but the clubs and committees of the college are very functional and systematised. Sports and extrac curricular activities are also endorsed by the college. It has a fest of its own named Kridangan Sports Fest and Legalease fest. There are many social groups active in college as well.
Hostel Facilities
There are almsot no facilities in the boys' hostel, with old buildings and rotten rooms. The mess is also exclusive of the hostel fees and we have to pay for it separately. But the registration process of the hostel is quite simple and does not require much effort.
Admission
I gave CLAT, apart from MHCET Law Entrance 2024. But I was not able to get into the NLU of my choice. So, I gave MHCET and got into ILS Law College. The admission process includes taking MHCET 5 year or 3 year Law Entrance Exam and then taking part into the counselling process as per the rank or percentile.
Faculty
There are about 240 students per faculty per subject. Although, all the professors are expert in their fields, one may not like the teaching style of all of them. I personally found Ashish Sir to be the best faculty in terms of his knowledge. There are Internal and External Exams, of which internal is of 30 marks and external carries 70 marks. Internal consists of 10 marks written exam, 10 marks viva and 10 marks experential component. Exams till second year are not so difficult to pass at all. They are very easy if one has put in even a small amount of effort.
Night Life
The nightlife inside the college campus is pretty dull owing to many restrictions. But outiside the campus we have F.C Road as well as KNP as the major hangout places. Most of the college crowd can be found roaming at those places in the evening or night time.
