Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose this course because of strong focus on practical learning and industries relevance the curriculum office also experience with essential tools like Python,R,SQL which are crucial in the data science field i was also want to the coverage of topics such as ML, AI and data mining as they alive with my career goals the flexibility to choose elective give me the chance to Taylor the course to my interest the balance between theory and practice is one of the programs strengths while we learn the foundation of concepts may also work on real project help us apply what we have learnt additionally the course of course opportunities for Research is great for those interested in pursuing further studies. Another potential improvement could be the inclusion of interdisciplinary courses that data science could be combined with other field like Healthcare economics to explain the scope of how we can apply data science in different sector as for exams they are generally the more technical once can be challenging while others are a bit easier overall the exam test both theoretical knowledge and practical application and why some subject can be up the difficulty level is manageable

Placement Experience

2

Placement here is pretty much good the problem in placements are you have to compete with the lot of people and as an Arts and Science major you have to compete with engineering people and most recruiters always choose engineering over Arts and Science degree because engineering is more like technical while arts and science are bit more theoretical, if you don't have any skills and you are just putting some courses for the namesake for making a resume in your resume page then you will not get a job, basically you will get a room 3 lakh per annum in most of the job of letters you will get here and if you want in higher then you have to learn a lot of Technical skills to get yourself placed in the highest package if you are a person who are just enjoying your life in the college time then you will definitely suffer in the placements

Fees and Financial Aid

Honest Review of the M.Sc. Applied Data Science Program at SRM Kattankulathur Hey there! If you’re considering the M.Sc. in Applied Data Science at SRM, here’s my take based on my experience: Fee Structure Yearly Fees: The fee is ?1,40,000 per year, and ?10,000 goes towards registration. Total Cost: For two years, you’re looking at ?2,80,000. Fee Hike Alert: Yep, there’s been a fee hike compared to last year, so it’s something to keep in mind when planning your budget. Scholarships SRM does offer some good scholarships if you qualify: 1. Sports Quota: If you’re good at sports, this is your chance to grab a scholarship. 2. Parents Working at SRM: If your parents are employed here, you get a scholarship too. 3. More Scholarships: There are other options based on merit, socio-economic status, etc. Check out all the details here. https://www.srmist.edu.in/policies/scholarship-policy/ Class Timings This is where things have changed. Until last year, classes were from 9:20 AM to 3:30 PM, but now they’ve introduced shift-based timings: Morning Batch: 8:15 AM to 1:20 PM Evening Batch: 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM Here’s the catch: you don’t get to choose your shift. They decide for you, which can be a bit frustrating if you have other commitments. My Overall Experience Honestly, the course is pretty good, and the opportunities, both academic and extracurricular, are solid. But yeah, the fee hike and shift timings are a bit of a bummer. If you’re okay with those things and manage to grab a scholarship, it’s definitely worth it. Hope this helps! Good luck if you’re planning to join!

Campus Life

4

on top of it. That said once you figure out where to get the Information a lot going on the campus as turns of clubs and Society for pretty much every interest from cultural activities to technique shops and sports the social aspect is great if you are involved and it easy to meet people with similar interest. In terms of infrastructure SRM does a pretty good job the libraries both facilities and labs are all top not so you can really make use of those it's just thar events and some club info that could be more easily accessible but if you stay active on social media and walk around campus often then you will eventually get the hang of it, it's a good experience but you have to be proactive to make the most of it

Admission

The only College I apply is for SRM because it is nearby for me then other colleges and i always wanted to get into a prestigious colleges or more like a university so my first option for me is SRM because its nearby for me and it is one of the most prestigious University around my place and it also offers abroad programs where you can study for a semester there that is if you are wealthy enough to afford the expenses. For arts and science student you really don't have to write any entrance exam all you have to do is after your 12th you have to submit your result in the online portsl and then they will select you if you have a minimum of 75 percentage and u studied right courses for the course you are applying and if you pay the college fee at the right time, you will get the seat without dout in most of the cases

Faculty

3

Most of the faculties here are really good. They’re always willing to teach you again and again if you don’t get something, which is great. Unlike some other places, the professors here aren’t backward in their thinking. If boys and girls are talking or interacting, it’s totally fine. In some colleges, you might hear things like "don’t talk to boys" or "don’t talk to girls," but that's not the case here at SRM. Of course, how good a faculty member is can depend on who you have, but for me, out of the 5 subjects I’m taking, 2 professors are really great, while the others are just okay.

Night Life

4

Nightlife in srm is relatively calm, girls must be back in the hostel by 7:00 p.m. while boys have more freedom to Roam around campus and beyond this curfew limits the opportunities for students to explore the area at night ,the gym which is only accessible to hostel students, it is a popular Hangouts for those who want to stay fit. The library is also a quiets for for students working on assignment all though it closes by 8:00 p.m. outside the campus there are cafes and restaurants but with the curfew they aren't accessible to everyone inside the campus, the popular hangout spots include the food courts and common area that student can unwind and socialise. while the campus and surrounding area are generally safe the early curfew for girls means they miss out on some Late night exploration these restriction influence campus Life Making day time activities and social events the primary outlet for student interaction, with fewer opportunities for late night adventures

Most of the students having skills in demand based on the company requirements will get selected. Companies with good reputation will visit during campus placements. My aim was to getting placed in a company with good reputation and descent salary package.
