A Brief Review of My college

The course curriculum is not relevant when it comes to real world scenarios. Most of the courses are irrelevant and outdated. Very few courses are thought provoking and insightful. Examinations are very frequent as there are four recurring tests. Course are easy, mostly learning and very little mathematics is involved.

Internships are provided by companies such as Reliance, MITACS, Tata Steel, Flipkart, LeadSquare, Poter, Urban Company, etc. The stipend ranges between 20 to 50k. However internship opportunities are limited for non circuital branches. Only around 5 to 10 students received internships in my branch

The placement statistics are a little above average when compared to the contemporaries. Out of 76 eligible students in my class around 35 to 40 received placement. A significant fraction of this number received 6 months internship

The semester wise fees I paid was around 2 Lakhs, so year wise, it accounted to 4 lakhs. The fees of the complete course was around 16 lakhs( excluding the mess fees and hostel fees) . I applied for pragati Saksham scholarship and got an amount of 50000 per year. GP Birla scholarship is available for students who perform academically well. The caption fees was 5000, the registration fees was 75000

There are many clubs of different domains ranging from Literature to data science. Club involvement here is a great way to build soft skills, communication skills and for leadership development. Sports activities are limited.

Double rooms and single rooms are provided in hostels. Single room are very few in number and one needs to apply for it with specific documents and reasons. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. Meals are good only on specific days such as Friday and Monday. There is also a coupon system on Wednesdays and Sundays for non veg.

I only applied for this college because of limited options and it was close to my home. One of the major reasons behind chosing it over other options was good placement opportunities. The admission process was through Jossa counselling after clearing Jee mains.

Very few faculty members are good at teaching. There is a lot of partiality towards students based on gender and mother tongue. The course structure includes around 5 to 6 subjects per semester including two to three labs. The examination pattern is divided into a quiz of 10 marks, mid semesters of 25 marks, another quiz of 10 marks ,end semester of 50 marks and 5 marks based on evaluation by teachers. Some teachers are lineant while some are strict in checking the papers.

Girls have an in-time at 9 PM but night life is full of restrictions for girls. If a girl is late by 5 minutes, they impose a black circle before her name and if it happens three times consecutively in one month, they call the parents. There is a gym that is available 24/7 in girls Library is open till 8 PM on weekdays. On weekends it is open till 6 PM. The locality is not safe for roaming around at night.
