Course Curriculum Overview

4

•Well, I didn't really know what is Instrumentation & Control. But after joining college and spending a year talking to the seniors, I came to know that this is one of the best branch in this college. •This college enhances students to prepare students for real life problems makes them capable for real life solutions. •The professors should soon start communicating with Gujarati in the class so that non-gujaratis do not face any problem in understanding anything. •The college exams appear to be more difficult than the exams in other colleges as per my point of view.

Placement Experience

4

•From the 7th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. •Majority of the companies are RELIANCE, ADANI and TCS. •The highest package in the previous year 2023 was 19lpa whereas the average package stands to be 5lpa. •In my branch IC, 89.9% students got placed and it got the second most best placement of the college after Electrical Engineering. •My plan is to appear for GATE bc I don't want to work and reside in Gujarat. •

Fees and Financial Aid

•The year-wise fees is very less in my college. It's approximately Rs 1800/year. •Since the fees is very less, it only includes the tuition fees and rest other fees like lab fees, caution fees, etc is completely free of cost. •For other depts, the fees is same as mine. •There are scholarships for J&K people, people belonging to reserved categories from NE and also from Gujarat. •There are also scholarships included for females and for people with disabilities or financially unstable students. •The scholarship for J&K people is 1lac a year, NE people get less scholarship compared to the above.

Campus Life

1

•This is the negative thing that there are no tech festivals in this college. •There is a variety of books available in the library including the course materials. •Smart board is available and apart from that I don't think it's even necessary for technology upgradation. •There is NCC, and other sports in this college. There is also a sports fest held in this college during the March session. •There are culbs, student-run social groups, and other things in this college but it does not seem as useful as those of other colleges.

Hostel Facilities

3

•Excluding the E-Block, talking about all the other hostels, rooms are small and accomodated tor two. •There is no personal washroom for every rooms. Only 2washrooms are present for each floor. •There is no wi-fi provided to the students. •Meal quality is too much poor, and actually not eatable. There is no mess fees but if you want to eat then you have to pay Rs. 60 for each meal which is again a positive thing. •Registration process is very simple, report to the hostel office, submit the documents, select the room of the provided hostel and you're good to go. •The locality is absolutely fine if you rent a room or PG as the college is in the heart of the city and is fully safe.

Admission

•I applied for KIIT, SRM, LPU and many other colleges and got a confirmed admission from various colleges from the ones I mentioned. •I choose this college because of the minimal fees and taking the placement scenario into consideration. •I got NIT Agartala Mechanical Dept, but I failed to get a confirmed admission because of the eligibility criteria. I'm a dropper and in 2022 there was no eligibility criteria but in 2023 they had put the criteria even to droppers. •The admission process is very easy, go to the dept, meet the HOD, submit the documents and you will be required to give a signature, and that's it you're done. •The most common exam is GUJCET but there are also applicants like me who got admitted into this college through JEE MAINS and the CSAB NEUT Counselling.

Faculty

4

•The faculty-to-student ratio is quite good. Even though there is a mass number of students studying in this college but there is also a decent number of professors available to deal with students. I think the faculty-to-student ratio would be approximately 1:100. •In my branch, I like Prof. Divyesh Raninga because of his unique way of teaching and a decent checking in the midsem exams. He is also very helpful and guide you whenever you approach him. •All the faculties are quite good, so I don't think there is any professor I met till now whom I don't really like. •This college is under Gujarat Technological University(GTU). There are 2 exams in each semester : one is midsem which is arranged by the college professors and also checked by them, but the other one is held by the GTU and college professors has no role in making or checking the paper. •It's quite tough to score in GTU since the college has no role in checking the paper. So unlike other colleges, many students fail and a SPI of 7 is considered very good.

Night Life

4

•There is gymkhana available in this college, only one canteen and a poor menu, good library with great infrastructure and the library remains open till 12am and it opens from 6am. •There is no in timings into the hostel and campus. It's 24/7 open which is one of the best positive things in this college. •The Riverfront, Kankaria Lake, etc are the best and famous hangout places outside the college but inside the college there is only canteen haha. •The locality is fully safe to roam around the night as the campus is in the heart of the city.

Other Applied Colleges

Lovely Professional University - [LPU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

I decided not to opt for LPU for my BTech because I prioritised factors like proximity to home, cost of education and the specific reputation in the programme of my chosen branch. While LPU provides good placements but it does not align with my career goa
