My Experience in BEST Hospitality College

Curriculum in the IHM;s was not updated since long time , things which were taight and things which are happening in the industry are very different but after passsing out their are some changes which are made in the course that must have include fresh curriculam which may help students when they move to industry.

There is a four month intersnship thats called industrial exposure training that is manadatory for every student. There are various comapanies for internship opportunities like Taj, ITC, Oberoi,Hyatt and Marriott. Every student must do his/her training in four core departments to have proper understanding how hotels work.

During our time college had 100% placement rate, in the placement rate, in the placement drive all big brands participated like Taj, Hyatt, Oberoi, Marriott and their were also some retail companies like Aditya Birla group and Arvind Lifestyle. Most of the companies had same procedure like first round ground discussion, second round personal interview and then company have rounds with senior management of the department.

The fee structure of all IHM's are somewhere same, here during my time each semester had fees around average 50000-60000 and hostel fees was seperate from this what would be around 30000-40000 for each semester. As per my limited knowledge college does not provide any scholarship at their level but the scholarships that are provided by the state governments and central governments are applicable here. Some of the student got all the feesw paid by the scholarship for that one need to mainatain good marks in academics during your college journey.

Campus life is pretty good as most of the festivals are celebrated in the campus but hospitality colleges are different than the normal colleges dont expect fests like those colleges. Social life is also good students can easily manage their social life with the college.

AIHM Chandigarh is one of the the best college for the hotel management in the country, in north india after IHM pusa delhi this college is so goof in all the aspects and come under top ten IHM's. When someone looks for the college their are some as aspects like placements, alumni are all in all over in the indusrty which help students during and after their college life.

Faculty of the college overall was great during our time in the college. All the faculty in the college were highly educated and professional. There were six semesters , one of six months , each semestet had two middle term exams and one end term exam consisting of both the fisrt and second mid term syllabus. Faculty to student ratio is 1 teacher for 60 students thats feel good for the class environment.

Their is no nightlife in or around the college. Yes opposite college their is new lake where most of the time students hangout. If you want to enjoy night life then you may sector 28 chandigarh full of clubs or mohali side.
