My experience

The course curriculum in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness is good. It prepares me for my future interviews. In the course i think there is no need for improvement. The syllabus is nice but i think we should be preached some computer science subjects along with our course for students like me who aspire to be a computer engineer.

From third year we are allowed to sit in internships and many good and reputed companies visit our campus to hire interns. The mainly expect us to know data structures and algorithms which i am currently working on.

From fourth year the students become elligible for campus placements. Many companies like amazon,samsung visit our campus. Highest package offered this year was about 50 lakhs and average package was 8 lakhs as per companies. Placement rate is nice but the packages offered in the last is not that great. I aspire to be a computer engineer.

The fees for the course of my odd semesters ie. 1,3,5,7 is nearly 60000 and the fees for my even semesters ie. 2,4,6,8 is nearly 83000. The hostel fees for all the semesters is 40000. It sums upto approx 9 lakhs for four years of my course.

My overall experience with campus life is nice. I made some nice friends. It is a nice platform to come out of your comfort zone. I am currently in a dance club as to follow my hobby. The infrastructure is also well maintained.

Hostel facilities are moderate. Like not too good,not too bad. The mess food is nice. Anything asked to be done in our rooms or somewhere else takes time but it gets done eventually. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Apart from this , i applied to many nits and iiits and gftis. But according to my rank in JEE exam ,i was provided NIT hamirpur. I preffered this college above others because of its distance from my hometown, its campus beauty and because of some refferences I got from my relatives. The overall admission experience was smooth because of ISTE members of my college.

The relationship between students and faculty is nice but only in some cases.Some faculty is way nicer and approachable than compared to the other. From my personal perspective I really liked Gagnesh sir from my first year. His teaching methods were very nice . I dont like Surrender Soni sir from my second year. He was not good as a human being, always scolding and finding small mistakes in our work. He was hated by many. I one semester,there are two exams. Midsems and endsems. Overall the level of the exams is moderate. Around 30% of the students fail to clear a particular subject.

We dont have nightlife. The intime for hostels for girls is maximum is 9.30 pm. So we have not really experienced late night outings. But in the evening we usually hangout near OAT,VERKA,SP . These aur some most visited spots of our campus.
