- Infrastructure:While IIT BHU is improving still some aspects like old IIT BHU hostel need facilities like the new hostels present here.Upgarding these areas would enhance the campus experience better
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculam at IIT BHU is well structured ,combining core technical subjects with industry relevant,which greatly influenced my decision to join.While the curriculam is rigorous and comprehensive ,adding more hand on projects and interdisciplinary courses could enhance the learning experience.Exams are held mid sem and end sem and while moderately challenging,they focus on clarity and concepts .
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements from their 7th semester onward.Companies like Google,Microsoft,and goldman Sachs visits offering a range of profiles.The highest package recently was 1.65cr with average 25 LPA.About 90% of eligible students secure placements.For those who do not,options include entrepreneurship or civil service,higher studies.My plan is to pursue a career in software development or data science .
Fees and Financial Aid
The per sem fees for - GEN/OBC/EWs/Q/IP is ?1lac (students with family income > ?5lac) along with other fees Hostel fee includes ?15,000 per sem for everyone No management quota is available for IIT's. The students with 1lac family income have to pay ?40,000 per sem along with other required fees and students less than 1lac family incomes and reserved candidates ?10,000 along with other required fees IIT BHU provides merit-cum-means scholarships to 25% undergraduate students and many more scholarships are provided for reserved candidates and have a poor family income
Campus Life
Campus life at IIT BHU is vibrant with festivals like Kashiyatra and technex and spardha ,a well stocked library ,modern classrooms and diverse sports and extra curricular activities enhancing student enagagement and community spirit.Students run social groups and clubs like Film club,Drama Club significantly enrich campus life,fostering a sense of community and personal development.The library provides a vast book collection providing easy access to academic resources to the students.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities at IIT BHU include shared rooms with basic amenities and wi-fi. Meal quality is decent,though options are repetitive.Registration are straightforward from online portal and affordable and compulsory for undergraduate students. No you cannot rent a room or PG if you are a undergraduate student from IIT BHU
Admission
I chose IIT BHU over other colleges due to its strong academic reputation,excellent oppurtunities and vibrant campus life.I also considered NITs but chose IIT BHU over those for it has strong alumni networks and well rounded curriculum.While I couldn't make it to BITS PILANI due to a lower score in their entrance,IIT BHU's admission through JEE Advanced was straight-forward merit based.The eligibility criteria need clearing JEE advanced with cutoffs varying annualy but demanding high ranks and minimum 78% in class 12(the cutoff marks was 53 in year 2022).The admission process was smooth and the instituite's focus on academic excellence stood out
Faculty
1.the faculty to student ratio is approximately 1:10,ensuring personalized attention and interaction. 2.Faculty-student relationship:are approachable and supportive often encouraging discussions beyond classroom hours. 3.There are many faculties i personally liked their teachings and it depends on the branches whoms lecture you will like. 4.exam system: include mid-semester and end semester,they are moderate challenging,emphasizing conceptual clarity. 6.Failure Rate:are relativel low as students are provided with resources and support to improve performances. 7.Course curriculum:is rigorous and industry relevant,combining theoritical foundations with practical skills
Interview Experience
No ,gd ,interview was done ,it was fully through jee advanced exam and based on that criteria the cutoffs for each branch was published by the portal The criteria requires minimum of 75% in class 12 and clearing Jee advanced.
Night Life
Nightlife at IIT BHU is quiet,with most of the facilities closing by 8PM.Hangout spots like Nescafe and nearb cafes in Lanka and HG gate provide late night options,and the areas are genrally safe for studentsThe Student Activity Centre have gyms,and sports activities closes at 10 pm ,the main library closes at 6PM.Hostels typically have quiet hours and restrict access at night for safety.
