Remarks

Positive thing I can see is competitive environment everyone wants to compete with each other and along with extra curricular activities which brings students together to work as a team.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements are good and competitive programming environment is good. College doesn't provide any internship but companies come in 3rd year of b.tech. to recruit for internship. I got an opportunity doing intern for two months at Wipro Bangalore. Stipend was 15000 /-month. I didn't learn anything special in that intern. They just gave me copy paste and mundane work. But I got experience of a big city. And also on the other hand earned some money for the first time. For placements so many companies visit. Big names I can include:- Microsoft, Amazon, Tata, Medlife, Oyo, Paytm, Samsung, Directi, Adobe, Oracle. And much more. This year 90% of computer science students are placed. Almost every average student got 6LPA package minimum.

College Events

4

Culfest: It is a cultural festival of nit jamshedpur. Competitions happens for singing, dancing, fashion show, nukkad, group discussion, antakshari. Some celebrities also come. Most probably singers come and hasya kavi sammelan happens. This year Jubin Nautiyal came. Ojass is techfest which has competitions for every branch separately. So work hard and win prizes (money).

Fee Structure And Facilities

Every year fee structure is different. I was admitted in 2015 so I'm paying 49500 for (tuition fee + hostel fee) and 16500 for mess fee per semester. For 2017 batch students it is increased (1 lakh for tuition fee + hostel fee) and 16500 for mess fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

The most economically backward students whose family income is less than 1 lakh per annum shall get full remission of the tuition fee. The other economically backward students whose family income is 1 lakh to 5 lakh per annum shall get remission of 2/3rd of the tuition fee. This requires income certificate issued by competent authority SDO/DM/DC.

Campus Life

2.5

For extracurricular activities many clubs and societies are there. You can join multiple of them based on your interest and talent. Every year annual sports meet happens which has competitions like table tennis, long jump, running cricket, football, volleyball, basketball etc. are organized.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostels are very good here. All hostels are renovated. Sweepers come 2 times in a week. Lan facility is ok(most of the time it is off). Everyone has single room. Mega hostel for first year students. Which is of 7 floors and has lift facility too. Ambulance and bus facility is available. Bus goes every evening to market. Ambulance is available 24×7.

Alumni/Alumna

Of course senior students are always there to help. And many alumni have got great success in their fields. Every year alumni meet happens in which alumni come and meet students and donate some money to the innovative clubs. They are also helpful to get referral for companies.

Admission

I wrote jee main 2015 (12th appearing).I got 140/360. And my 12th board percentage was 93.6. I am from U.P. Board. After board exam ranks were announced. I got 10162 rank. After that counselling procedure. Filled in order. Thats it!!

Faculty

2.5

As of now computer science here is very good in terms of placement but for research purposes I'll not recommend NIT Jamshedpur. No research work. Most professors don't know how to teach. So most of the time you'll end up doing things on your own.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placement after the 5th semester. Top companies such as Tata Hitachi, Tata Steel, Aditya Birla Group, and Wipro visit the campus to recruit students. The highest package offered by companies in campus placement is Rs 12LPA, and the average package by companies in campus placement is Rs 6LPA. About 65% of students got a placement through campus. I'm planning to join DRDO after completing my degree.

Remarks:

Reason why I preffered this college was that I had applied for a few colleges out of which I got selected in this. To take admission in this college we were supposed to have scored 75% marks ( 65% for SC/ST students) in 12th grade. They admit students to the course on the basis of JEE Advanced scores followed by JoSAA Counselling. Admission for the course generally starts from July. The admission process is simple. I preffered the online mode where I filled my application in the official website of the institute and attached the required documents. Then I paid the application fee and submitted the form.

Outstanding faculties having a good depth of knowledge.. Well interactive. Ideas and Knowledge is easily projected by them. They follow a stringent standards while conducting experiment, viva-voice in labs. Their teaching style and attitude is good and generally the language of interaction between student and faculty is English. So in a nutshell the faculty is up to the mark and satisfactory.
