What Students Say?
Likes
- College ambience Is very good. You will feel like you are in mall. There are air-conditioning facilities in all the classes.
- The faculty is very good. Some of them have taught in many IMS as well. They are also very supportive.
Dislikes
- It is just one building college. There is no campus.
- Even though HOSTEL facility are available, they are of campus and almost 1 km away from the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was very nice and includes all the concepts as as well as real-time case studies and real-time project applications. Where in you yourself have to work on projects to get hands on experience.
Internships Opportunities
Throughout your two year MBA journey, you will go through placement twice one for summers and one for the final. There are very good companies that come for summers because they don't come for finals and they choose their final place students in the summers itself so it's better to get a good company in the summer itself. A lot of MNCs and Indian conglomerates come to the summer internships.
Placement Experience
placements happen after your fourth trimester gets end and mid fifth trimester. A lot of good companies come for MB HR, such as Michael page, Larson and turbo, reliance, Aditya birla capital and many more. Even if you do not get place from college, make sure that you will end up at a good place. Highest package goes to up to 32,00,000.
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid 12 lakhs fees in total for one year. There is only one scholarship that is given to top 10 students who scored the highest marks in NMAT and the waiver is of 1,00,000-2,00,00 rupees. do consider cost of living expense as well while applying to the college.
Campus Life
There are more than 20+ student run societies in the college and you can easily participate in anyone of them. You have to go through a rigourous selection process to get into them, but if you get into NMIMS, you can easily get into those societies as well. You can choose which society you want to go based on your interest. There are sports and extra curricular activities as well.
Hostel Facilities
Girls hostel is very good. There are some issues that come up every now and then, but other than that it will look like you are staying in a hotel. Hostel has its own canteen where you can get whatever food you want. if you're planning to stay in a budget friendly manner, you can find some of your friends and get a flat or a PG near Andheri or Vile Parle.
Admission
I applied to other colleges as well, but it was my best call out of all, and I wanted to come to Mumbai as well. I would suggest you to prepare better for CAT and get into a good IIM or a more better college. The admission consist of so many rounds starting with NMAT exam then watson glazer test followed with a PI
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is very low. There are so many students in one class, around 80 per class. The faculties are well read and very well experienced. You will get to learn a lot of from them. The curriculum is also very good and you will feel like you are studying throughout the year because the merking does not always happen at the end. There are internal evaluation throughout the year.
Interview Experience
so there was a Watson Glaser test, which include aptitude and critical thinking majorly English was there. After that, there was written test as well where you were given a prompt and you have to write something about that. After that, there was an off-line PI round also where in their focusing on your interest towards the course, current GK and your undergraduate subjects
Night Life
as I mentioned that there is no campus as such so no nightlife, but you can enjoy Mumbai's nightlife, which is way better. You can try so many cafes and clubs that are there around the college. if you are planning to get into Hostel, there are strict timings, and you have to get back to Hostel by 11 PM at night
