Course Curriculum Overview

The btech course is very relevant and useful for the future technical world. We not only have exams but also numerous activities like workshops and technical events for experience. Two semesters exams will be conducted in a year. But i suggest the university to increase the course duration for experience practice like interships.

Class Size: 2500Course Fees: INR 800000 per year

Placement Experience

We do have placements and placement training from 3rd year onwards. 3 of our students are already placed in MNCs. A lot of companies are willing to give placements. 38% of students gwt 3asily placed every year

Fees and Financial Aid

College in the outskirts of Kottayam, Kerala. Here we have five engineering branches with moderately good facilities. Placements and programs [arts , technical, cultural & sports] conducted once in a year.Nice management & experienced faculty team.

Campus Life

We have a technical event called Lumiere which happen every 2 years . They are help in april . Library is accessible from 9am to 4pm and all books related to the course arw available here. Sports and arts are conducted every year and winners are being allowed to participate in interstate competetions

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are bare minimum for joys while btter for girls. Girls have a college hoatel that can accomodatw more than 100 individual. While boys hostel is outside the campus and each hostel have a capacity of 20 people. Hostel is affordable and good quality food with specified menu that unclude kerala food. Hostel is 1km awaya from college

Hostel Fee: INR 50000 per year

Admission

Admission process is via kerala entrants exams , KEAM. Rankholders will get the priority. Other colleges have similar course but with different fees structures. For admission a student should have passed 12th STD & KEAM examinations.

Faculty

Faculties are quite good and experienced. Supportive. Course based on KTU syllabus and so are the exams. Students can easily clear the exam with proper studying. Good and kind teachers helps us in learning and preparing fo our exams.

Night Life

There is no night life inside the campus as the time is apt for rest and sleep for a student. Still we are allowed to use sports auditorium till 8pm for practice. We have kailasm for a hangout place inside the campus , uts like a mini-cliff. The college is always under surveillance so safe.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Main companies visiting the campus are IBM , TCS ,TATA ELXSI,L&T, Cognizant,Toshiba,Vanenburg,Kalkitech,Sobha,Mrf ,Juspay,Dynolt and many more. 70 % students get placement Highest package is 16 lpa and average is 5 lpa After degree higher studies can be considered.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Is engineering here worth it?

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA
