Course Curriculum Overview

4

The courses are very informative and innovative. All of it is according to ICAR carriculum and practical based since Agriculture is applied science. A huge area is dedicated to farming land, dairy farm, biogas unit, protected cultivation area, growing various crops and commercial flowers, etc. If in case if you opt for agriculture, you will be given classes regarding maths, biotechnologu, pathology, english, entemology, genetics, computer science, agronomy, soil science, meteroligy, and so on. The pressure can sometimes feel high but they are fruitful (talking from experience since I'm persuing M.Sc. atm)

Internships Opportunities

4

A lot of internships are available inside campus. Classes are provided for all the purposes. Even if you opt for higher education the university provides you classes for different exams. You may opt for internships or your own or the university will notify you of every available internships.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are very nice with good package with minimum package starting with 2-3 lakh annually. Theres placement cell for guidance at every department and placement classes take place on weekends, starting from 3rd year. These classes prepare you for every entrance exams and interview questions giving basic knowledge related to science, maths and english.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship is given via. LPU NEST exam, the marks you scored will determine how much scholarship you will be getting. For me, my semester fee was approx 60,000 or so, including the scholarship. But if someone is from sports background, they will get more benefits financially. Other remaining benefits are for alumni, which will be considered during Ph.D. The fee payment at LPU is on a semester basis rather than yearly. Hostel fees are separate along with mess (which you may/may not opt for)

Campus Life

5

Campus life is very happening and events are happening on a weekly basis. There are nth number of student organizations and non-profits that one can join or one can form their own. Theres gym fascilities, swimming pool, archary grounds and so on, that one can join with reasonable prices. Cardio gyms and basketball courts are present at every hostels for pass time and/or health. Hostels have study rooms so does the library. The library (central) is very big while every dept. Is provided with their own.

Hostel Facilities

3

I have stayed in both hostels and rented fascilities for my 4years in Punjab. Hostels are good but the mess facilities are not up to the mark which is the prime reason why I left hostels. I prefered cooking by myself, but if you are not up for it you can alwayd buy food from around, there are too many options and varieties of food available. Inside the campus, there are a lot of kiosks available if mess food is not something you can live with. Even Dominos pizza is available inside campus. But no non-veg is allowed inside campus

Admission

LPU is ICAR affilated making it a good option among all the other private universities. It is also having high NAAC + rankings and provides good exposure. LPU brings international guest lecturers and has good tie-ups too with foreign universities. If you are thinking of placements, then let me tell you, companies like Adani Group, Wipro, etc. Come here for recruitments.

Faculty

5

Faculties are really nice at the university. Very helpful, very informative. They provide all the helps that are needed, providing materials, recommending books and will solve your problems anytime. From personal experience, some teachers even try to help you with your personal problems. I have got few teachers who were so good that they noticed my problems and helped me and/asked me regarding that. Exams occur per sem, with one mid term every sem. Midterms are mcq based while finals are both mcq and long answer type. In case if you fail in one subject you can give retest 5times but if you can't clear after 5 times it will turn into a backlog and you have to study the subject ones again. B.Sc. Agriculture contains 8semester with approx 12 subjects per sem, while the last two sem is all about practicals and project works.

Night Life

3

Night life is very quite inside campus. Female hostels have stricf rules regarfing timings and permission is needed to go out of campus or work inside campus during night time (sometimes during events you are suppose to work late). Night life outside campus is very happening, food is easily available, student area outside campus has all other fascilities and it can be fun (if you are going there for fun). Phagwara is one of the residential areas which is quite safe compared to all the other student areas, market is near too and you will get buses easily from bus stop to university maingate.
