What Students Say
Likes
- I liked the infrastructure of the campus and also the scenery it offers. Even though the size of the campus is small but it's beautiful.
- People here are from very diverse backgrounds and are generally open minded . The boys to girls ratio is pretty much same or infact it feels girls are more.
- Good cultural programs and many activities conducted by different streams as it contains many courses like architecture, BBA, Btech etc.
Dislikes
- Faculties' style of teaching is not upto the mark and very vague.
- Sometimes there are misunderstandings related to the end sem result which seems false and doesn't easily get corrected.
- The management is pretty bad and doesn't manage properly.
Course Curriculum Overview
The B.Tech CSE courses at Amity University Mumbai are mostly contemporary, holding many important topics. Subjects like Data Structures and Algorithms, Computer Networks, and Software Engineering could provide good grounds for future studies.
Placement Experience
As on date, the placements from Amity University Mumbai go quite well, and this is also the reason considerate students get placed after having undergone their seventh semester and beginning of eighth semester. All said and done, to everyone's concern in and outside Campus, companies like Google, Microsoft do not regularly visit Campuses
Fees and Financial Aid
B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering at Amity University Mumbai is not at all a low-cost deal. You are going to have to make yourself comfortable with giving up a decent amount of money. The initial deposit that you will require for getting hold of your seat in the program along with a caution deposit, The fees for Btech CSE in my batch is around 1.3 lakhs per semester (it might have increased now).
Campus Life
The campus life is rocking, and Amity University Mumbai presents all the students with so many opportunities to study and mix up together. The annual events: Aminova and Technician are huge events and combine most cultures, technical, and sporting events on campus. The existing library is a little small, and the university expands it to make it a bigger one that could be used for more academic topics. All classrooms have basic tools such as projectors and Wi-Fi, so learning doesn't seem drab. The university has several sports and after-school activities like cricket, football, basketball, and various indoor games. Besides that, there is a large number of clubs and groups operated by the students who are in pursuit of their diverse interests in literature, coding, dance, and music, etc. Amity University has had a good campus experience, in terms of opportunities to develop academic and extracurricular as well as social activities.
Hostel Facilities
Amity University Mumbai is good. It has two students in one room who share space with all the very basic things, like beds, study tables, and chairs. The shared bathroom and toilets, sometimes annoying, are kept quite clean, however. The food inside the mess is good, but not many options are available. There are cafes inside campus that offer a better variety, though very pricey.
Admission
COVID-19 changed everything, including the college admissions scenario. So, I was in a bit of a mess. I did not study well for exams like JEE, and my 11th and 12th foundational concepts in maths n physics were not so good. MHT-CET was a big gamble, which did not go according to plan. But I had to get into a college, and I wanted one in Mumbai. Amity University Mumbai seemed to be a right choice. It offered direct admissions, which was of great relief for a student like me. It was located at Mumbai, and the structures and facilities were good enough. The admission process was pretty smooth; one applied online, forwarded all documents and then counseling and seat was granted there. It wasn't my dream college but rather was all right given the circumstances.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio can be quite high at Amity University Mumbai, and thus some professors can be very accessible, with a lot of knowledge that can be tapped into as great resources. Other professors might not be so accessible, and that will affect the interaction and support students will receive.
Night Life
Campus life at Amity University Mumbai is quite vibrant, though the nightlife options are not so many because of its location. The cafeterias mostly close by 9 PM and the campus gates by 8 PM. For those residing in the campus, curfew is usually around 9:30 PM. It's a fair place to hang out in the evenings.
