Course Curriculum Overview

4

My aim was to clear civil services exam. And this course is very helpful to pursue my dream. The couses includes several real world issues and the government policies and plans as a part of the curriculum. Gender aspect is also considered an important feature of this course . It imlarts gender equality and policies related to women and other marginalised communities.

Internships Opportunities

4

It is a government college and government is taking actions for the internships through naan mudhalvan schemes and also provides placement through the naan mudhalvan scheme also our department collaborate with ngo's to provide internship opportunity rlated to our course

Placement Experience

3

The students were eligible.to apply for the placements in their 5th sem. Companys like HCL and ibm and also other companies offer placements. The highest percentage was last year aboir 3.5 lakhs per annum. My aim was to prepare for the civil services exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

The first time first year fees while admission was Rs.1510. Also have exam fees of Rs. 710 for the first semester. Tuition fees for a sem was just 5 Rs for yearly it is Rs.10. The detailed structure was given with the bill receipt. Sem fees will be around 1000 for a sem and for a year it is about 2000 and has exam fees of Rs.700-800, based on the papers written for that sem. Application fees will be Rs.25 and for mark sheet it will be arounf Rs.250 Also scholarships are provided, which includes SC/ST scholarship, BC/MBC scholarship and MR scholarship. The scholarship amount will be 1000 rupees per month.

Campus Life

4

There are 2 major events conducted at the college level. Sports day and culturals. The culturals was done at the hall which will comprise 500 stidents but it is not sufficient for all the students. The college has separte grounds for each sport activites and also encourages non players sports activities.

Admission

I chose this college for a friendly environment. It is one of the oldest colleges and by seeing the alumni list I selected this college. I selected the college only for the course. On the first councelling I got admission. During the admission, I loved the friendly approach of the faculties and I immediately chose the college . It is better than other colleges where our faculties also consider of our life and they also conduct value added courses for free to make us empowered.

Faculty

4

The faculties are very friendly. But the faculties are less.when compared to other departments. Our head of the department mam puts immense efforts in makes us understand the concepts well and the teaches were regular to the classes.

Night Life

3

Hostel was under renewation from last year. But the atudents were staying at the neighbouring college hostel. Simce I am not a hosteller, I don't know about the hostel life but the best hangout place is the canteen and ecopark

Placement Experience:

Our college provides placement. At first they will conduct some training programme for those students who are all interested and paid fee for placements after that based on the performance of the students in the interviews they got selected. Companies like Accenture and many others come forward. The percentage of the students getting placed is depends on good performance. I planned to look forward for some jobs by cracking some exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well the course provides almost everything which is needed and available. This is not a normal economics course as it involves statistics, python, core math and also dives into data science. This allows the students to explore various subjects and can choose which is their best fileld. The curriculum overall is very rigorous and intense but you can crack it if you study regularly. About the frequencies of the examinations, we have 2 internal examinations and 1 end semester examination. I can guarantee that this course is super rigorous but im not sure if i would necessarily say that the course is "practical" and it helps us in the real word. I cannot comment on the practicality of the courses. The exams are not super difficult and its moderate. Getting more than 90% can be challenging although clearing the paper won't be an impossible task.
