Course Curriculum Overview

4

The first thing that impressed me is the qualification of teachers because many of them had fone their Phd. The college has not completely prepare us to face the real world. In my opinion the syllabus has to change to something more advanced and really useful for carees. Actually we have enough time to prepare for the exams but the bitter part is the teachers are not able to complete the full syllabus and sometimes they are so lethargic.

Internships Opportunities

4

Actually the students has to select their internship based on their field and we have no stipends which is mandatory but the college also provides some limited internships offers which has stipend. For the mandatory internship we have to present it on viva voce and marks will be provided for our viva voce.

Placement Experience

4

Our college provises placement. At first they will conduct some training programme for those students who are all interested and paid fee for placements after that based on the performance of the students in the interviews they got selected. Companies like Accenture and many others come forward. The percentage of the students getting placed is depends on good performance. I planned to look forward for some jobs by cracking some exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

I'm Sayeeda, Currently I'm pursuing my BA degree in Thiagarajar college, Madurai. Actually in our college we have both aided and self finance stream. I'm studying in Self finance stream. So i have to pay more many. I'm paying ?35000 per year which also included tuition fee, internship fee, management fee and exam fee. Scholarships are available in our college based on caste categories and financially low students.

Campus Life

5

The annual festival that conducted in our college is called "sangamam" which is usually conducted in the even semester. Our library contains many books and currently our college is building a new big building for the library for advanced world. There is no technological facilities in every class rooms only some of the very few classrooms have. Sports is actually quite good at our college. The college also conducts some clubs such as NCC, NSS, Social Service League, Nature culb, Library and so on which created involvements in students and made them to mingle with other departments students.

Admission

I had applied to many colleges such as Madura college, American college, Meenakshi college, Lady Doak college and Gandhigram University College and i got selected in all the colleges but the reason behind why i chose Thiagarajar is because of the distance. It's so near to my house and the collge set some high standards. The admission of Thiagarajar college is based on Online applications and cutoffs. We have to score high on the subject which we're going to select as our course.

Faculty

4

The relationships between faculties and students are bit dry. Some faculties mingled with the students and some not. Personally i love my teacher Dr. R. Sri.Vidhya because she is so sweet and understand student's psychology. The faculty that I dislike are many actually becuase they are always behave rude towards students in the name of discipline. The exams are hard to score more but easy enough to pass.

Night Life

5

We have no gym in our college and we have only one vegetarian canteen in our college. Our college has provide hostel facilities for both boys and girls. There are two shifts in our college. For morning shift the class starts at 9'O clock and ends at 1.45 p.m. For afternoon shift the college starts at 2'O clock and ends at 6.45 p.m. We have no handout places inside the college but at outside we have vrry famours temple called Theppakkulam and also the food street and it's safe to roam around at night.
