Course Curriculum Overview

5

Was interested in Botany and zoology thys applied for this course. The curriculums were nicely designed so that all caders if students can pass easily and, at the same time in order to get the highest marks we really had to work hard.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees amt was around 1500 or so in 1994. I don't exactly remember the he fees now. At that time scholarships were available as per category, and merits also. But the annual income of the parents were also considered for these scholarships. Thus I didn't get any scholarships. My father was in Army then. As I came from Jodhpur, at that time, my Dad came in uniform and got admission in Army quota with a social workers help.

Campus Life

5

The annual college fest was Smirti, (from October to December) and departmental function was Lantana, which is followed now also. Lot of other functions like intra and inter college fests were also conducted on a regular bases

Admission

I applied first for Ethiraj, presidency, Queen Mary's college and Quid-e-milleth from Jodhpur through postal. My uncle sent me their application forms. When I came to chennai, we stayed in Pallavaram, thus came to know of this college and through a social worker I came to this college, in one days itself I filled and got the admission on that day itself, and my Dad came in military uniform. The then Principal mam the most respectful, Mrs Tangam Sesion then gave me admission, as the college admission were almost over, as I came from Jodhpur my marksheets were also delayed.

Faculty

5

The faculties were in full capacity. Now it's totally not there for UG. The faculties were all well learned and experienced. Now in UG courses only one faculty is from aided and all others are guest lecturers. No PG was there at that time. Now, For PG it's in Self finance course and the faculty is in full capacity, and management is fully supporting the faculty with all sorts of facilities. At that time in UG (aided) there was Mrs. Seetalakshmi then HOD, Dr. Mrs. Rani, Jayanthi, Seetalakshmi and Devika mam. For allied it was Mrs Meera and Pushkala mam. They were extremely dedicated and friendly and also were the most respected mams for me. It was a non semester pattern, and we had yearly syllabus. And had to score marks out of 100 and tough to pass, and had to earn aven one mark was very strict. Now it's much easier as it's semester pattern of exams, and thus, subjects were most easily passable. The scheme was 75/25, now it's 60/40 scheme for external and internals so, it helps the pass percentage of the college.

Night Life

1

The college canteen and the ground which had many trees then was our hanging spots mostly. The sports day was enjoyable with participation in marchpast. The library was ok then. Now it's been modified with internet. Thus searching now is easier when compared to those times. There was no night life for me
