Remarks

Overall it is a good college with affordable course fee..Very friendly atmosphere and natural enviornment which creats a very study full atmospeher.It is also not a good college for bright future you have to perform hard of your own for your success.

I have to choose technical education as it has lots of oppertunity also i love physics so i would go for mechanical branch.The course is much interesting with real life uses.But the course is tricky enough to study and score marks.

The placement facility of our college is not good enough only few company came to our college for campus recruit.Yes my college allow us to go for internship but it dont provides internship from their side.

College Events

A few events are celebrated in our college like annual functions and sports are held.Some seminar program are also arrangement for improving skill of students.College encourges us to participate various seminars.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its quite affordable.A average family who need there child to done technical education they can choose this college.You have to study hard to have a great career in your life.The fee structure overall quite feasible.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college provides Odisha medhabruti scholarship,Prerana scholarship.Also insists another scholaship like lic golden jubliee scholarship.It also insists TFW scheme of technical education, which students a lot.

Campus Life

A small play ground is there im which students spend their leisure time.Also our college encourage the sports and sporty student.Labs are not well equiped but still all experiments are done for better understanding.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facility for first year students is good enough.Its also quite hyeigenic.There is always a dedicated warden is assigned for the hostel.The maintenance is done properly and the minor problems are resolved in time.The food quality is upto the mark and satisfying. Non veg is provided on Wednesday.

Alumni/Alumna

Our seniors are very friendly.They help a lot for exploring campus and infrastructure.Our college also organise various alumini sports in which students from other colleges participated.Overall my college is good for me.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

A Decent Experience

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIIT Bhubaneswar are generally good and improving, especially for students who stay consistent with coding, projects, and internships. In my college, students usually become eligible for campus placements from around the 7th semester (4th year), while many students start getting internship opportunities and pre-placement offers from the 5th–6th semester itself depending on skills. Every year, companies from the software and IT domain visit the campus for roles like Software Developer / SDE, QA, Analyst, Web Developer, and sometimes Data-related roles, and students also get offers through off-campus applications. Some of the common recruiters include companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, along with product/startup opportunities depending on the year, and multiple students receive more than one offer as well. The highest package and average package vary every year and depend a lot on branch, performance, and market conditions, but overall the college provides decent placement support and training sessions like aptitude, DSA guidance, and interview preparation. The placement percentage is also fairly good for students who actively participate in the placement process, while the rest generally go for higher studies or off-campus roles. After completing my degree, my plan is to either secure a good software developer role through campus/off-campus and build experience, or if I feel more interested academically, I may prepare for higher studies or competitive exams along with improving my skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

Life at NIST

Placement Experience:

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

My College Life.

Placement Experience:

Students after 5th semester are allowed to get pre placement training. And then from 7th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Companies visited to our college for recruitment are like TCS, Accenture,Zenus, Infosys etc Average package in my college is 8LPA and the highest package of this year is 25LPA. Almost 70 percent students get placement. My plan is to get a job as a Software Engineer in Google with a package of 30LPA.

Best College in this Budget

I applied in SOA and Trident Academy because of the high course fee ,i didn't do the addmission. Gift is Autonomous college and my elder brother preferred me this college and the fee is affordable. No I don't scored good in JEE so I clearly admitted in GIFT. Students must be attended JEE,OJEE exam or others engineering exams and there is no certaint cutoff for the course.
