Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is well planned. We are taught not only the subjects of our own department but there are inter disciplinary courses also, like engineering mathematics, engineering drawing, fundamentals of electrical engineering etc. The exams happen twice in a semester one is the midsem and other is Endsem. The difficulty level of the exams is medium. However sometimes some subjects are hard also.

Internships Opportunities

4

Our college provides internship opportunities for students in which the students can sit in their pre final year. In 2023-24 there were 353 paid internship offers from 77 companies. Some companies which offered internships were APT Portfolio, Google, Sprinklr, Microsoft, Samsung, JLR, Cisco, Bajaj, HUL etc. Pre placement offers were also made by some companies like Intuit, Cohesity, Flipkart, Google etc. Total 307 PPO were made from 68 companies.

Placement Experience

4

Yes our college provides placement and students become eligible for placement in their final year ( before final semester). In 2023-24 total 307 students received pre placement offers from 68 companies. Some companies which offered PPO were Oracle, Flipkart, Google, Morgan Stanley, Cisco, Tata steel, Adobe etc. Overall 924 offers were made for placement from 277 companies. Some companies which came to our college for placement were Wells Fargo, Flipkart, Tata steel, OLA, Accenture Japan, Texas instruments etc. Total international offers were 9 . Highest package was ? 1.68 cr and ctc package for international offers ranged from ? 77 Lpa to ? 45 Lpa. I will also be sitting for the placement in my final year.

Fees and Financial Aid

My yearly fees is ?109731 per year (Around 55000 per semester). In this the tuition fees per semester is ?33333 , registration fees is ?200 , medical fees is ?300 , hostel seat rent is ?300 , hostel development fund is ?2250 , examination fees is ?500 , Gymkhana fees is ?1000 , students amenities subscription is ?250 , festival fees is ?150 and electric and water charges is ?1200. All these charges are per semester for the OBC category. For all other categories only the tuition fees is different but rest all are same. For all Students the mess fees is ?15000 per semester.

Campus Life

4

Our college life is a mix of rigorous academic and fun fests. Our college organises annual cultural fest, 'Kashiyatra' , annual technical fest, 'Technex' , and annual sports fest, 'Spardha' . Our college has a central library having lakhs of books which students can issue anytime. There is reading hall facility also in the library. The classrooms are equipped with smart boards and projectors. Sports life is also fun as almost all sports are present in our college. Also our college participates and wins in Inter IIT competition . Students Counselling Services is available for all students in our college. SCS is commonly known as Sakha which is always ready to help students, for their better mental well-being.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facility in our college is good. Every room has beds, study tables and chairs as per the number of students living in the room. Every hostel has its own mess and the quality of food given in the mess is also good. There are 2 sattvik mess also for pure vegetarian students. Hostel registration has to be done in each odd semester.

Admission

There are many factors that affected me to choose IIT BHU. One of them is placement. As per my rank I was not getting top IITs like Bombay, delhi or kanpur etc. but I was getting branches like mining in bhu and ism Dhanbad. Also I was getting ocean engineering in IIT Kharagpur and newer IITs also. But I was not interested in going to newer IITs or ocean engineering in IIT Kharagpur. So I had choice between IIT BHU and Dhanbad. I chose IIT BHU because it was closer to my home. My admission in the college was through josaa counselling in which i filled the preferred colleges along with courses. Partial fees of my first semester was taken in the counselling only and rest was taken after admission. Overall admission experience through josaa was good.

Faculty

3

Facilities of our department are good. They are very approachable and ready to help students. The faculty to students ratio is around 1:10. In each semester there is an Endsem and a midsem. The mid semester exam is generally of 30 marks and end semester exam is of 70 marks. Rest 20 marks are for assignment or quiz. However the marking scheme depends on professors also. Maintaining 75% attendance is compulsory.

Night Life

3

Nighlife is good but not very good. Cafeteria is present in our college. Also there are 2 gyms in our college. Hostel has rules regarding timings, specially for girls, due to security reasons. Famous hangout place in our college is Limbdi corner (LC) . Also, Vishwanath temple is present within the BHU campus, so students often go there also. Outside the campus there are ghats beside the river Ganga, which is also a very common place to hangout.

Placement Experience:

Here you'll get placement cell for placement training. But most the students studying here aren't interested in placement. Most students go for GATE examination or UPSC examination. Even I have plan to go for UPSC examination. There are many rankers passed from here. I think the highest package in 2024 was of 12LPA and average was 4LPA. There is not very high paying visit from any company. But in off campus there are some students who have cracked 45LPA per annum package at Amazon. I my opinion if you are passionate about any government examination then definitely you can opt for this college . And if you want placement then make your self perfect and go for off campus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In our autonomous batch there are more practical and project based subjects. There is one subject called design thinking in this we have to think of real life problems and empathize about it abs find or create solutions for them it can a whole new system, a simple app or machine or even a campaign as long as it helps society. There is one ihs subject also which promotes my branch (ECE) in pharmacy , like teaching about medical devices and technology and even our semestet projects are like creating portable ecg machine, creating automatic wheelchair, temprature- oxygen- heartbeat sensor abd recorder etc. It increases difficulties but also improves chances for placemenys in your 4th year if you are already creatibg such things in 1st sem. Frequency and difficulty of exam is moderate i think.
