Remarks

I love this college. After readig 1.5 years I have not felt that I am in college.it is still like a school. But one thing that disappoints me is its toilets. They are so dirty.some of them are so old. And there is no internships or job opportunities.we need hostels. We need scholarships.certain faculty stuffs are rude. This things are needed to improve.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Our college is under cbpbu(Coochbehar Panchanan Barma University).previously its exam structure was annual based but recently cbcs system has started. That means we are giving 2 exams in every year.we have completed 3 exams and now in June there is going to be our 4th exam.Personally I like cbcs system because in this exam structure you have the freedom to choose subjects.we were given 2 lists from which we selected our general elective subjects(pass). In this exam structure internal marks play an important role. There are 10 marks in the hands of college.(6 for exam/assignment/seminar etc and 4 for attendance). So attendance is necessary and I like that.

Placement Experience

0.5

No.there is no such opportunities.I think internship or job opportunities are much popular In the engineering, medical or sciencebased subjects. But our college is totally devoted to arts.and in my 1.5 years of experience I have not seen such programmes. As the college is still in development process I think soon this process will start.

College Events

4.5

Our college is situated in North Bengal and the college is named afrer Panchanan Barma,a famous personality.so his birthday is celebrated in different colleges. Freshers Welcome programme,Sports,Saraswati puja,Bashanta utsav, departmental programmes including seminars, farewell are celebrated in regular besis.

Fee Structure And Facilities

No.fee structure is not too much expensive. For honours course they take total 9000-10,000 for 3 years. In Geography dept the fee is little bit high.we have to keep in mind that it is not a govt college. It is in development process we can't expect the fees lower than that.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't know such things.I have not heard about a scholarship offered by college. But there are kanyashree, uttarkanya, vivekananda etc which are only for SC ST or poor students.I belong to general category and My annual family income is above 3,00000 so I don't get such facilities.

Campus Life

3.5

In our college there are jim, lab, library etc.I don't know about the labs as that are only usable for geography dept.the library I know. It is vast and you will find so many books! You can take the books but before every exam they issue a notice where you have to take library clearance certificate.unless that you can't sit for exam. I have seen the jim room but I hv never gone to that room.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

As I have alreay stated that the college is in development process. There is no hostel alloted for the students. But there are 2 hostels which are given by the CM for SC,ST students of all the colleges in coochbehar .I belong to general category so I am not applicable to stay in the hostel. But I have heard from they get breakfast and dinner only.hostel fee is 500-800 I think. When the rate of foods increase they pay extra money. More to that the hostels are ragging free.

Alumni/Alumna

The first day I went to the college I was very nervous for the seniors. Because in most of the colleges they teases or irritates their senior for first few months. The first day I saw they were just watching us. There was an intro session. The teachers took our classes and we simply went home. They are so friendly. If we ask them something they explain so quitely. They are really very helpful.

Faculty

5

As I am in English dept I can say it is the best dept in the college.there are 4 teachers for our dept.3 of them are permanent.Everyone is so wise and friendly. They teach us so many things which are necessary for future. I don't know much about other depts but I think improvements are needed as most of them are guest or part time teachers.

I want to know bengali literature and all type of poems and proses that's why I choose B.a. in bengali literature. According to me, my course helps me in doing Masters in Bengali. From the point of view of improvements, I feel that digital classes can be conducted in the class by leaving the theory classes. Mere collage The exam level is basically hard and exams are conducted twice a year.

I have always wanted to persue English as a career. I love studying English but not a big fan of the new curriculum by NEP that includes a lot pf irrelevant papers. The semesters are not consistent. Odd semesters usually have a lot of time like 6-8 months but even semesters barely consist of 2-3 months.

Course Curriculum Overview:

We were held a class for upto 1hrs, thus we had 4 class a day. Sometimes it is boaring sometimes it becomes striking, it depends on the mood. It is to say little knowledge is a dangerous thing, if you don't read you cannot pass the semester examination. Although it will provide you a second chance. But with change of syllabus the exam pattern also change. You need to attain a total percentage of 75(%) to maintain you honours subject otherwise you would be regarded as programme course student.
