Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is really good as we are able to learn each aspect of the course. The curriculum prepares you for real world applications. It teaches every basic of the course. The course curriculum can be improved by removing some of the irrelevant things like soft skills, engineering chemistry. The frequency and timing of exams difficulty is high as we are regularly being tested.

Internships Opportunities

4

Since I am a fresher, I still dont know much about the internship opportunities but as per our college syllabus, It is a must to do either a internship or do a project. Most of the students does minimum 2 or 3 projects during the college years and some of them are being published in some of the journals.

Placement Experience

5

From 6th semester onwards, students are eligible for campus placements. Top companies like Amazon, google, siemens have visited and offered very good amount of packages. The highest package laste year was 1Cr and average packages is around 8-10 lpa Nearly 90% of students are getting placements My plan after getting the degree is to do further studies like M.Tech

Fees and Financial Aid

I am paying like 2lakhs per year for the College and 1.86lakhs for the hostel. Idk the exact fees for lab, development and such things. Some others pay 3lakhs and some pay 5lakhs.Its totally based on which fee slab we are in. Our college provides scholarships that are allowed by our government

Campus Life

4

My college annual and technical festivals are VIBRANCE and TECHNOVIT respectively. The library is really a great place to spend your time as it has really a large amount of books from journals to fictional books. All the classrooms has basic facilities like projector, speaker, mic and they also provide WiFi in class. Many amount of extracurricular and sports events happen regularly in our college and its really fun to participate in it. There are several amount of studen-run social groups and clubs which really cool.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel facilities ilare basic. They provide free wifi, ac, fan, study tables, cupboards, water purifier at every floor and some indoor games like TT and carrom. Mess is very average. Registration process is simple and its pretty much affordable. I would have rented near kelambakkam if i choose a PG.

Admission

I have applied to amritha college of engineering and SNS college of engineering but i chose VIT over them as it provides better education and facilities when compared to them. I didnt get rejected for other colleges but I chose Vit over them. My college had the admission process over VITEEE and the course availability and fees for the course is soley depended by our marks. The admissions process is totally over online.

Faculty

4

The faculty ratio is around 60:1 . Faculty is more open to us and they guide even some slow learners and they also provide guide not only on thier academics but also to doing projects and ideas. The faculties i liked here is my chemistry and computer science faculty. Chemistry sir is really a great guy and he is too good at his work and all my classmates likes his lectures. My computer science teacher is good and she teaches about practical aspects of what we teaching. The faculty I didnt like is my maths sir. He is a bit arrogant towards us. There are like 3 main exams for theory and 2 exams for lab. Most of the students are capable to clear the exams as the exam level is moderate. The course curriculum is constantly being updated everytime to be relevant for daily life.

Night Life

5

My favourite hangout spot in my college is the clock court and my college hostels are mostly active till 1 or 2. Our hostel gym opens at 5am and closes at 9am.Then at 4pm to 8pm.Library opens at 7am and closes at 12pm on weekdays and 9pm at weekends. For mens, the public area closing time is 9pm and for women, its 8pm.the end time for public area is the same time for hostel check in time. Famous hangout spots in my college are gazebo, north square and ab1 portico. The localty is safe to roam at night.
