Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum provided in the civil engineering is very much up to the mark, the civil engineering department of MITS Gwalior is one of the best in the state of Madhya Pradesh which influenced my decision to choose this course. This curriculum is very helpful in solving the real life problems and applying the civil engineering where it is required. The exams are conducted in every one and a half months to check the progress and growth of the students. The difficulty level of the exam depends on the students preparation and his attention in the class. However the level of examinations is not very hard.
Fees and Financial Aid
1st Year Fees (2021-22) : 133000 Rs 2nd Year Fees (2022-23) : 83300 Rs 3rs Year Fees (2023-24) : 83300 Rs 4th Year Fees (2024-25) : 83300 Rs Tuition fees per year: 32500 Rs Caution money: 5000 Rs Development fees : 20000 Rs Activity Fees : 3500 Rs Alumni Registration Fees: 500 Rs The fees structure for the 2024 Batch has increased to 170000 Rs The scholarships provided by our institution are : MMVY, OBC scholarship, SC/ST scholarship.
Campus Life
The only demerit which are college is facing is the lack of annual and technical festivals done by the college administration. The last cultural fest that are college organised was in 2022. The technical fests are organised but the level of the technical fest are very low. The library of a institutions is up to the mark and the accessibility of books and journals are very easy however, there are specific days on which particular student can issue the book from the library for example the OBC categories students can issue their books on Tuesdays and Fridays where as the general categories students can issue their books only on Tuesdays and there is no such criteria for SC ST students they can issue the books anytime any day. The sports and extra curricular activities offered on the campus is none, its been around 3 years in the college and I have witnessed no sports event organised by the college where the students compete with each other. However, the students of our college take part in the zonals organised in Madhya Pradesh which includes cricket, football, table tennis, badminton etc. There are many clubs where the students can take part and enhance there communication skills and public speaking skills for example clubs like sports club, Nutrition club, coding club etc.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels in a college are very well built with advance infrastructure. We have a seven floor hostel which includes 10 rooms in every floor adding up to around 70 rooms in total. Each room consists of four roommates. The facilities in the hostel room is very up to the mark as it provides us a bed a proper study table with a separate room and separate bathrooms for every room. The meal quality in our hostel is not very good, most of the time we have to order from Swiggy/Zomato. The allotment of hostel is based on the merit. The better percentile will get better opportunity to be a part of the hostel.
Admission
After my JEE examination I had the opportunity to join GB Pant Technical University in Uttarakhand, I was eligible for electrical engineering there. But my first preference was civil engineering so this was the sole reason to join MITS Gwalior. The admission through are college is done through MPPSC online. The students have to clear jee examinations with good score to get admission in our college. The cutoff for CSE is around 85% tile. The overall admission experience was very smooth as the arrangements made by department and the college administration were up to the mark.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is 1:15. The faculty to student relationship depends on both the faculty and the student however it depends more on the student behaviour. If the students is obedient and attends all the classes and and has his attendance up to the mark the teachers will definitely help that student out which ultimately nurses the relationship between faculty and student. Summarising, the student and faculty relationship is good. Every semester we have two mid semester exams, 1 end semester exam proficiency test and practical examinations. The exams are easy to crack if you are attending the class is and in regular touch with your notes. Some of the teachers are very demotivating but majority of them are a helping hand to the students.
Night Life
This is very unfortunate to say that the night life in our college is zero. No student can hang around in the college after 7 p.m. whether it be a day scholar or a hostler. Some famous hangout spots in the college is the Amul centre, nestlé centre, cafeteria, stage ground. Outside the college we have spots like Gwalior fort, baijatal, City centre etc. The overallncollege life is okay not very good not very bad.
